A/N
IT'S FINALLY HERE! After...what? a year? Idk, but I'm so incredibly sorry! Sooooo much has happened these past months, and I've had a terrible writer's block.
My car broke down, my grandpa has been very very sick lately, I just moved in with my boyfriend, I have two jobs I recently started and my exam period was...well, it didn't go well.
BUT! After struggle and stress, here is another chapter for you! Enjoy!

Winona looked at the missing-poster of her mom that hung on a nearby streetlight, while she and Addison were walking to school.

"We'll find her, Win, don't worry. My dad has sent the whole Z-patrol to look for her." Addison grabbed her hand and squeezed it. Winona gave her a sad smile, and Addison decided to not let go of her hand.

The last couple of days had been hard for her. Her teachers had given her a few days off without falling behind in the classes, which she was grateful for.

Winona looked at her feet as she walked to her locker, and all her friends looked at each other with sad faces. "My dad sent a few from our pack to search for her." Willa said carefully. "Thanks." Winona gave her a weak smile, before it immediately faded.

"You won't find her." she sighed. "No, Winnie, don't say that." Wynter said. "You won't find her, because she doesn't want to be found." Winona looked between her friends, before turning back to her locker.

"I would really appreciate it if you all just stopped talking about it in front of me, okay?" she asked, before she walked off. "Guys, you have to lay back on the talk about her mom." Eliza said to the group.

"Yeah, remember that we just got her back in the group. If you keep talking about it like this, she might want to leave again." Zed pointed out, before the rest sadly agreed.

The cafeteria buzzed with conversations, laughter, and the occasional food fight that teachers quickly shut down.

Winona wasn't in the mood for any of it.

She carried her lunch to one of the quieter tables near the windows and sat down alone. She picked at her sandwich without taking a bite, before a chair scraped against the floor.

Bonzo sat beside her. Neither of them spoke, he simply unwrapped his fries before sliding half of them onto her tray.

Winona blinked, before she spoke. "You don't have to..."

Bonzo smiled and shrugged. He signed something slowly, and Winona frowned apologetically. "I still don't know Zombie." Bonzo laughed quietly before pulling out his phone.

A few seconds later he turned the screen toward her.

My mom always made sure I ate when I was sad.

Winona looked at the message, and felt something tightened in her chest. "...Your mom sounds nice." Bonzo nodded. She stared down at the fries before finally taking one.

"...Thank you.". Bonzo gave her a thumbs-up before eating one himself. They spent the next several minutes in comfortable silence.

For once...the silence didn't feel lonely.

The classroom was unusually quiet.

Mr. Musashi walked between the desks, explaining the assignment while writing on the whiteboard. Around the room, pencils scratched against paper.

Winona stared blankly at the worksheet in front of her. She had read the first question at least five times, but not a single word had registered. Her attention was taken elsewhere when a folded piece of paper landed beside her hand.
