Winona stood ready in front of the two parallell poles, one higher than the other. The crowd around her was settling down, while the judges were getting ready to watch.

After getting a thumbs up from the blonde girl on the side-lines, the young brunette took a breath, before running, doing a flick flack and jumping up to grab the shortest pole.

She twisted and turned and did many tricks, before taking a backflip over to the taller one. She was twisting around while getting ready for her exit, but once she was over it, holding on and leaning all her weight, it let go.

She fell on her back to the floor, looking up at the roof. She watched as the pole, broken in half, fell towards her, until she got a sharp pain in her left leg, and right hip.

And then, she fell out of consciousness.

~~~~~~
Winona's eyes opened abruptly, before she sat up and looked around. The watch on her nightstand told her it was midnight.
She grabbed her phone and sent a message to the only person she could talk to, who responded after a few minutes.
Winona climbed out of her window as quietly as she could, before climbing over to the neighbouring roof and entering through her best friend's window.
"And then what happened?" Addison asked after the brunette had told her about the nightmare. "And then I woke up." She answered.
"It's probably just because of the appointment you have tomorrow. I'm sure it's fine." She smiled.
"Could you tell the others a made up story for why I'm not there tomorrow?" She asked. "Of course. I can just tell them that you're going to the dentist." She smiled.
"You can sleep here if you want to. It'll be easier anyways since mom's the one taking you." Addison suggested. Winona accepted happily, before both of them went to sleep in Addison's bed.
~~~~~~

Winona laid down on a table while the doctor pressed her legs against her stomach. She then stretched them out, before massaging the legs.

"Everything seems fine here, Ms. Hart. You are 100% clear to go back to gymnastics." She smiled. "Thank you, Doctor Lovett." Missy Wells smiled to the doctor.

"Now, I do have a set of special painkillers if you ever feel like you need them, but it seems like your legs are totally healed." The doctor smiled, giving Winona a pottle of pills before leaving the room to get her checked out.

"Are you planning on returning to gymnastics, Winona? Addison really really wants you on their team." Missy smiled from the chair. "I don't know. What if it happens again? Or what if I land wrong and do permanent damage to my feet?" Winona said.

"Sweetie, the doctor cleared you. Your legs are fully healed, like nothing ever happened to them." the adult woman told. Winona fiddled with her hands and let out a sigh. "I don't know." she mumbled.

Missy smiled at the brunette. "It's okay, I won't pressure you. But if you really really want to, do it." she smiled, before the doctor returned to give her the painkillers. Missy then drove the girl to her school, before going home herself.

Winona walked to her locker to grab her books for the next class, when someone walked up to her. "What did the doctor say?" Addison asked quietly. "She cleared me. They are 100% healed like nothing ever happened to them." she gave her a small smile.

"That's great! Please join the cheer team, Winnie. It was our dream to do it together." she smiled. "Addison, I don't know." Winona closed her locker. Addison gave her a small smile of understanding.

"Tell me if you change your mind then." she smiled, before they were accompanied by the rest of their friend group. Wyatt greeted her with a kiss on her head, and no one brought up her absence.

Winona tried her very best to act like nothing throughout the whole day, but she guessed she had slipped a few times, as Wyatt seemed concerned a few times when he looked at her. Addison also noticed the times she slipped up.

She was thinking. Thinking about returning to gymnastics. Thinking about her accident. How scared she was. But mostly, she was thinking of the years she spent recovering. How her parents never came to the hospital, and instead, Missy and Dale were the ones who took care of her.

Missy and Dale, along with Addison, visited her every day. Addison even slept in her hospital bed some nights, especially in the start since Winona was scared. Even when she couldn't bring herself to walk because of the pain.

Missy and Dale helped her deal with the news when she overheard the doctor explaining that if she didn't start walking again, she'd most likely never regain the ability.

If it hadn't been for the three Wells, Winona wouldn't be walking today. They stayed with her throughout her whole recovery, and either Missy or Dale had gone with her on the appointments to check her legs.

And none of their friends knew. Of course it was on the news, but since her name was never mentioned, Bree never put two-and-two together. Zed, Bonzo and Eliza wasn't allowed a TV at that time, and therefore never heard of the accident. Willa, Wynter and Wyatt grew up in the forbidden forest, so the same went for them.

Addison and Bucky were the only ones who knew about the accident, and Winona wanted to keep it that way, no matter who she shut out.

~~~~~~
"Are you sure it's nothing? you seemed pretty upset today." Wyatt stroke her back as they watched the sunset from the docks. "I promise, Wyatt, I'm fine. I'm just tired." she smiled. "I trust you, Nona. But, I think you should get some sleep." he smiled.
Wyatt was consistent on walking her to her door, which she always argued on, but gave up as he never backed down. However, she always tried to make him leave quickly.
"Why do you always make me leave early?" he asked as they stood outside her door. "Because I'm scared of what my dad will do to you if he found out you were a Werewolf." she whispered. Wyatt looked her deep in the eyes.
"Well, then we just have to hide that from him." he smiled. "See you tomorrow?" she asked. "Always." he smiled, before kissing her. Winona watched him walk away, before making her way up the stairs to her front door.
She smiled to herself, before removing the necklace around her neck. She could feel her ears and fangs shrink, as well as her nails, before she entered the home. Her dad was sitting on the couch, watching the TV, while her mom was in the kitchen doing the dishes.
Not saying a word, Winona went up to her room. She sighed before grabbing a pink binder and looking through it. Pictures of her on the parallell bars, and the balance beam, pictures of her and Addison and pictures of her with all the trophies she'd won.
She went under her bed and pulled out a large box, before removing the top, revealing many many trophies. Oh, how she missed gymnastics. It was her whole life when she was younger. Addison lived for Cheer, Winona lived for gymnastics.
But, no matter how hard she wanted to, she knew she could never return to the sport.
