Winona sat on the floor of Addison's room, doing different leg stretches while her best friend was showering. "Do you have any plans after school today, Win?" the blonde teenager asked as she came out of the bathroom, drying her hair with her towel.
"Not really. Maybe work in the garage." she answered while having her legs stretched out in front of her and bending down to lay her chest on them, muffling her voice a little.
"You could always try out for the Cheer team." she smiled innocently. Winona lifted her head and glared at her friend. "Sorry. But, I know you're all I won't talk to Wyatt or stay close to him or whatever, but we have plans to watch Zed and Wynter train for the big match this summer." Addison said, getting dressed.
"Sure, I'll join you." the werewolf smiled, doing the splits. Addison stared at her. "What happened to you? You're doing gymnastics again, you have a more positive attitude, you're actually using the front door and now you're actually going to hang out with Wyatt nearby?" she asked.
"Good things have happened lately. Your mom told me I was like a second daughter, I'm actually able to be a gymnast again, and Wilder talked some sense into me. Things are going up, Addie." She smiled, standing up.
"I'm so happy. We've missed you." Addison smiled. "I still won't be able to talk directly to him or look him in the eyes though." Winona said. "It's fine. Baby steps." The blonde girl kissed her hand and placed it on the werewolf's cheek.

Addison and Winona laughed as they entered the school, before heading over to their lockers, where the friends were waiting. "Hey guys." Winona smiled, before opening her locker.
Everyone shared a look that was a mixture of confusion and surprise. "Hey.." Willa said, unsurely. "So, is it okay for you if I join you on watching the practice today?" the newest wolf asked, turning to look at her friends, avoiding a certain someone.
"You're always welcome, Winnie." Zed smiled. "We can never have enough audience." the smaller wolf added. "Great! Because I've really missed you guys and I want to hang out with you again." she smiled.
"Hey, Win, can I have a word with you?" Bucky asked as he approached them. "Is it the schedule?" she asked, and followed him once he nodded.
"What was that?" asked Eliza once the girl was gone. "She seems...different." Wyatt said. "Well, a lot in her life has changed for the better lately, and she said that your dad's conversation with her really opened her mind. It's still hard for her to look at you or talk to you though." Addison said, looking at the male wolf while speaking the last sentence.
"It's fine. At least she's able to hang out with us. Baby steps." Wyatt smiled. Their conversation was cut short when the wolf returned with the class president. "Hey, Cuz, I need to borrow the gym every Thursday after school." he said.
"Sure. Cheer practice is Wednesdays anyways." Addison smiled, before he walked away. The group decided to part ways once the bell rang, hurrying off to their classes. Winona, who had the same class as Wyatt, walked in front of him, and he respected the fact that she wasn't ready yet.
~~~~~~
"So, Win, how's your mom?" asked Eliza while they were sitting on the bleachers, watching the practice. "I haven't really been able to talk to her since I started living with Addison... My dad's always home whenever I try." she said.
"That's so sad. I could never imagine going for that long without my mom." Bree exclaimed, getting a look from everyone. "How did that dress for the freshman go?" Willa asked to cut the tension.
"30 bucks. She loved it." The newest wolf smiled. "30 bucks from a freshman?!" Eliza stared at her with wide eyes. "She suggested it." the werewolf shrugged. Bonzo spoke in zombie, and Winona smiled at him.
"No, I haven't made anything else lately. I've been busy with other stuff, but there's one thing I'd really like to make." she exclaimed happily.
"I keep having this faint dream of my birth mom wearing a beautiful dress, but no matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to remember enough details to recreate it." she sighed. "Oh, that's too bad. Maybe we can help?" Willa suggested.
"Maybe." she smiled, before they turned back to their two friends on the field. "Hey, where have you been?" Bree asked, causing Winona to turn and look at the blonde girl that sat down with them.
"My mom was helping me look at collages, since we have to apply after the summer." Addison smiled. Winona looked at the ground.
"You're right, Bonzo. It's so sad that monsters can't go to college." Bree sighed after Bonzo spoke in Zombie.
"Yeah, I'm still gonna apply. I've lived a large percentage of my life as a human and I'm raised by humans. Maybe they'll accept me." Winona shrugged her shoulders.
"But, If Zed get's in when he wins the game, it'll open for all monsters to apply to college everywhere." Wyatt smiled.
Winona avoided his gaze, and didn't answer. "So, this game is really big. For all of us." Addison smiled. "But, not as important to us werewolves as the fact that the moonstone will finally be placed in the middle of Zombietown next week." Wyatt smiled, leaning back.
"Wayde and Winslow has been working on this for so long now." Willa said. "Oh, my God I can't wait!" Winona smiled.
The group of friends started watching the practice, cheering and booing as if it was a real game, before it was over for the two football players.
"I think you're gonna win the big game." Winona smiled as she pulled them both in a group hug. "Nawe, thank you, Win." Zed smiled. "We're gonna crush them!" Wynter smiled, before it faded.
"Too much?" She then asked. Winona shook her head while Bree spoke. "No. You're totally right.".
"But, I really feel like we should get some froyo before we head home." Wyatt clapped his hands together, and everyone agreed with him.
The friend group waited for Zed and Wynter to clean themselves up after the practice, before they made their way to Zombietown.
"So this is where the moonstone will be?" asked Eliza as they stood around a large sheet covering something. "Yeah, but it's a total secret until the revealing." Willa answered.
"When is it?" Winona asked before she put her spoon of vanilla froyo in her mouth. "Next week." Answered Wyatt.
The two of them shared eye contact for a split second, before the girl looked away. "Oh, Win, my mom wants us home. Says she needs to talk to us." Addison said, reading from her phone.
"Great hanging out with you! We'll see you tomorrow." Winona smiled before the two girls made their way to the house of the mayor.
Once they were inside, they were met by Dale and Missy, who looked serious and unsure. "Please, sit down." Missy said.
The two teenagers shared a look, before they sat down on the couch, across from the adults, who saw on the two chairs in front of the coffee table.
"It's about your mom." Dale looked at the werewolf. "What about my mom?" Winona asked slowly, looking between them, before her eyes landed on Missy after her sigh.
"She's gone."
