Eriu POV:

When I heard that Aïlis was missing and my mate was searching for her, it gave me the biggest right ever. But, I couldn't move, I jade to stand my ground and fight the rogues. Every warriors were already fighting. In groups of five, back to back with some in offense, some in defensive. Cyrus was directing Gaël's squad according to their battlefield program and it was better like that.

I was again amazed by this uncommon group that was fighting. Rogues after rogues were falling and they didn't seem dazed by that the least, protecting each other and looking out for danger. They were magnificent, like a deadly war machine. The human were with their guns and blades; the wolves with their claws hand guns. Slicing throats and shooting heads.

I was brought out of my daydreaming when a wolf lunged. I fought him off. My war wolves soon stanched the first wave. I directed for the wounded to be brought in. Suddenly, a second wave of wolves came out of the woods running at us. The fight started again.

A big brown wolf came after me. He snapped at my neck. I was about to buck him off of my larger midnight black wolf when another gripped on me. I surveyed the field, Ralf and Zack were also on a two against one fight, and Gaby was on the ground with a wolf on him fighting him.

The wolf's head suddenly blown up as a bullet lodged himself in his skull. I don't know from where came the shoot. Gaby went back on his feet and fixed the forest on the left of the house than nodded with a small smile. I again couldn't see what he nodded at.

Right after that, one of the two wolves on Ralf and Zack's backs fell. Than, it was one of those on me. This shooter was a great help, every shot led to a death. I was thankful to whomever it was. I killed the second rogue and went to Gaby. On my way there, more rogues were shot. I watched carefully the woods but couldn't pinpoint the shooter.

When I arrived to him, he was talking in a talkie-talkie I hadn't ever seen. I also saw Cyrus use one before using mindlink. They're so sneaky, I didn't even know that the both of them had ones.

I taped Gaby on the shoulder. He turned around and smiled a little. "Ah!, Alpha, happy you're here. Gaël found your sister and he's with her. She's safe!" A weight lifted from my heart. Aïlis was found and protected.

He was about to turn around when I stopped him. "Two seconds, who's shooting?" I asked. Gaby faced me. "Our very good own sniper." he answered in a cryptic way before turning around and engaging the fight again. I did the same while thinking about who could be shooting.

I was on automatic mode. Dodge, claw, pining, snapping neck, dodge, claws, pining, snapping necks, rogues after rogues. Everyone from my pack and Gaël's unit where her fighting so who could be.... Than it damned on me like tons of bricks. The one who was shooting... It explain the tattoo, I thought as the idea finished germinating in my mind. My mate was the sniper, my Gaël!

Flashback:

We were in bed and where relaxing after a little make-out session that went a little too hot when I asked him about this intriguing tattoo he had on his right hips. It was a rifle. A sniper rifle with a quote: "One bullet, one death. But never forget those who disappeared!" At that moment, it had pinched my curiosity but I thought it was a normal military tattoo. When I asked him, the only answer I got was a smirk and: "You're really curious. All should be revealed in due time!"

End of flashback.

Now it took all it's sense. It was his moral and honor as a sniper. He still has a lot to know about that I don't. I fought with a new found energy to go to my mate. My wolf wasn't well settled with the knowledge of his mate in possible arms way.

Gaël POV :

I opened the briefcase and took every metal parts out. I assembled my rifle and aimed. Before shooting, I touched my right hips reminding myself of the ethic I took when I first integrated the sniper corps. "One shot, one death. But never forget those who died." It was engraved in my memory.

I shot first at the wolf on Gaby who saw me and nodded than the wolves on Ralf and Zack's wolf. I shot some more but it was becoming foggy. I killed one who was against Eriu.  I felt blood ooze from my wounds and I couldn't feel my legs anymore. I could barely make out the fight ending.

I let go of my rifle after putting on the notch safety. I took out the vest from my briefcase and wore it to hide all the wounds. Than, I leaned my back against the trunk of a three. I heard the sound of leaves and twigs breaking.

I woke up Aïlis and made her climb in a three. "You go up in that three Aïlis and you don't make a noise!" I whispered. When she was hided well enough, I heard voices right before me but it was too much for me to comprehend.

Blackness was claiming me quickly and I couldn't make out any shape or body anymore and the sound were muffled.

I hope she's hided well enough so she isn't armed the least. I only had my instinct to be safe.
