Mikaela's Perspective

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2037.

Past Midnight.

3:30 AM

Hadid Coffee Shop. I stopped a few steps away from the corner coffee shop. It was beautifully decorated outside, with planters full of blossoming flowers and outside chairs and tables.

"Yuki?" Victor called.

"Hm? Yes?"

"Are you alright?" He asked, "You suddenly stopped,"

"I'm sorry," I said and turned to look back at the coffee shop, "I have never seen this place, it's beautiful,"

"Yeah... it likes to hide in the shadows," He chuckled, "Shall we go in?"

I nodded. Victor opened the door for me, and I walked inside. I took a few steps in to allow him to enter and lead the way, as I had a feeling he was familiar with this place.

The interior was well-lit and cozy. Its main colors were green, red, black, and white. The sofa is a dark green that complements the black coffee table and the rest of the coffee shop.

"Vin-vin!"

Vin-vin? I followed the voice that called out to Victor with that strange nickname. A pretty girl with light brown skin, curly brown hair, and olive-green eyes waved at him excitedly. She removed her apron and hung it behind her. She left the counter and approached us.

"Vin-vin, why are you here so late?" She asked and turned her attention to me, "Hello! Welcome to Hadid Coffee Shop!"

"Hello," I smiled and bowed.

"School event," Victor smiled, "Hind, this is my classmate Mikaela Yuki. Yuki, this is Hind, she's like my little sister,"

"Nice to meet you! I'm Hind Hadid!" She smiled, "Co-owner of this coffee shop!"

"It's a pleasure," I smiled at her enthusiasm, "You have a lovely place,"

"Thank you!" Hind smiled, "My father and brother built it up together! Although I help run it! Oh, let me introduce you to Ollie!"

Hind ran to the counter.

"Ollie?" I whispered.

"An olive tree," Victor whispered back, "Ollie is a good luck charm, plants have that power,"

"Here he is! This plant has helped bring good luck and customers to our place!" She smiled.

"He's a beautiful Olive tree,"

"Thank you so much!" Hind smiled.

"Hind, is Tamer here?" Victor asked.

"Mm! He's in the kitchen baking!" She said, "I'll ask him to come by, but no guarantee! We have some orders for our desserts!"

"That's alright. Hey Hind, may we get two slices of Knafeh!" said Victor "And two small decaf coffees,"

Coffee...

"Got it! Two small decaf coffees coming right up!" She smiled.

Hind left to place Ollie back in his original spot before leaving for the kitchen. Victor placed the bags on the floor next to the couch and sat down. He yawned and stretched.

"Yuki?"

"Yes?"

"Are you alright?" He smiled, "You're rocking back and forth,"

I stood still.

"I'm sorry,"

"Come take a seat and relax,"
