Face to face(Pearl)

I was running through the forrest, it was dark and I could barely see. I tripped over a branch and fell onto my knees. I could feel tears running down my cheeks.

Why would she say something like that?

I wiped away my tears and leaned against a tree and hugged my legs. I wiped some dirt off my knees and the dirt stuck to my hands.

Was she just playing me this whole time? Does does she even like me?

I mumbled to myself, "She was probably just trying to hide the fact that she likes me from everyone...or or maybe I took things too fast." I laid down on the grass, ran my fingers through my hair and stared up at the sky. I wasn't near any paths and the tree I sat against was dead so I could see the stars; I knew exactly where I was sense I knew this place like the back of my hand.

I wasn't planning on going back to camp anytime soon and I definitely didn't feel like confronting Amethyst.

I heard Amethyst yelling from far away, "Pearl, where are you?!".

"Oh shit." I muttered under my breath. She didn't seem that far away, I could hear people walking. I got up quickly and started running, I watched the ground more carefully and made sure I didn't make any sounds, though it was nearly an impossible task. I ran towards my treehouse, I was still crying. I wish I didn't tell Amethyst about it because she'll probably tell everyone. I climbed up the ladder and into the treehouse, I turned the lights on and closed the small door. I opened up a small hatch hidden in the wall and grabbed a pillow and sleeping bag from it then placed them on the floor; I locked the entry and turned off some lights so it wasn't so bright. I laid down on my sleeping bag. It's kind of funny how i'm always prepared, I smiled and laughed a bit at myself, I wiped away all the tears with the back of my hands. I rested my head on the pillow and tried to fall asleep but I couldn't stop thinking about what Amethyst said. I was just about to drift asleep when suddenly I heard a knock at the entry of the treehouse.

It felt like my heart had jumped out of my chest. I stared at the entrance and slowly moved away from it.

I don't know who was there. Oh god I hope it wasn't everyone from the cabin.

I heard someone talk quietly "Pearl, are you in there?". It sounded like Amethyst. She tried opening the door but couldn't sense it was locked. "Go away!" I replied.

"I-I'm sorry Pearl I didn't mean it like that.." Amethyst said.

"How did you find my treehouse?"

"I had Sapphire and Ruby draw out a map of the forrest for me...so I could find you.."

"Please, Amethyst...just go away..." I said.

"I need to talk to you. Face to face." She knocked on the treehouse again. "Everyone went back to the cabin to sleep." She continued.

I unlocked the entry and opened it up. Amethyst crawled up, she seemed to be out of breath. I sat up with my back against the wall.

Amethyst closed the door and looked at me,  "I only said those things because I didn't want anyone to know about... this thing going on between us." She said.

"This thing?" I said surprised

"I-I mean us going out, and liking eachother."

I tried to ignore what she was saying but I started crying. I'm not even sure why. I looked down at the floor.

Amethyst leaded towards me and wiped away my tears, I looked at her.

"Pearl, I love you." She said.

"I-I love you too Amethyst." I leaned in and we hugged.
