What does it mean? (Pearl)

Amethyst and I didn't talk after I asked her the question. It was all so confusing now. Does this mean she doesn't have a crush on me? Or does it mean she's straight? If she's straight then why did it feel like she was going to kiss me last night? Maybe this is just how Amethyst acts, after all I barely know her. I looked over at her, she was still staring into space. I wonder what she's thinking. I looked away again.

"Yes" Amethyst said and looked over at me.

"Yes what?" I replied, still not looking at her.

"Yes, I like girls." I looked over at her and her face was red.

"Me too." I replied some what hesitantly.

So she does like girls! But wait... this still doesn't mean she likes me. Maybe i'm getting this all wrong, but then why was she blushing and nervous.

We both smiled then heard the bell ring in the distance. "Is that the bell that's supposed to wake us up?" Amethyst asked. "Yeah but it's also the breakfast bell." We reeled in our lines and walked back towards camp. Ruby and Lapis ran up to us "Where were you guys?!" Ruby yelled at us. "We went fishing." I replied. Sapphire ran up behind us "Next time leave a note." "Okay." Me and Amethyst replied.

We put away our fishing poles and headed to the dining area, "Pearl, why did you ask me that question at the dock?" Amethyst said to me nervously. "I just wanted to get to know you better." I stuttered, she shrugged and I heard her mumble "whatever." I should have just told her but I want to do it at the right time. We got to the dining area and grabbed our food then sat down at the same table as dinner, this time everyone from our cabin sat with us. We all chatted and it turns out that Amethyst is pretty funny. She was cracking jokes the whole time and this made me happy because she was starting to get used to us.
