Because of that 'stunt' Amethyst and I pulled we were given a list of responsibilities for the whole week, including the weekend. We only had to attend to the responsibilities at some time a little earlier than dawn. Dawn, because we had to set everything up for all the other campers for the day that lies before them. This meant that we would have to wake up extremely early, well for someone like Amethyst. I myself just love waking up early. If Amethyst and I got lazy, woke up late, did it at midnight, or just subsided it we would get a call home and that means that our parents would know what we did.  I guess it's kind of unfair that we can't do it at midnight but that was part of the punishment and if we broke any rules Steven would be watching and tell Rose on us.
Amethyst and I spent the whole day inside. 'Thinking about what we had done and what could have gone completely wrong.'
We had Rose and the other councilors (besides myself), going completely bonkers that whole night and we didn't know, or at least weren't thinking about it. I get that Rose could have gotten in really bad trouble if we didn't return back to the camp, but this is a little bit of an extreme punishment. It's a good thing that I hadn't listen to Amethyst when she said that we should just stay in the treehouse, because if we did...I bet that the whole camp would have to be shut down. But I think her intentions weren't so bad... And anyways there was only enough canned food and water in there for one person to survive with for less than a week.
We spent the whole rest of our day pinned inside the cabin on our beds, with nothing to do, we were told not to talk to one another too. When lunch came along Amethyst and I got our meals from the cafeteria. We were allowed to eat it outside, so we did. Once we were done eating we put away our trays and went back inside.
I was leaned up against the wall reading a book when all of a sudden, BANG! There was a loud sound below me and my bed moved a bit, I was so startled my body had jerked and the book I was reading flew off the side of the bed. The book plummeted some 5 feet to the ground and ended up making a quiet thud. It was quieter than that of the sound that sent my book flying. I leaned over the side of the bed and looked down at the book, it was closed and I had lost my page. It's a good thing I had just started another chapter and I have an excellent memory. I heard Amethyst laughing from under me, I peeked my head under my bed and looked at her. Her feet were up in the air, just about touching my bed but in one swift move, she slammed them back against her bed, surprisingly without making a sound. There was a huge grin on her face.
"I think you dropped something." She said jokingly just before laughing some more. She looks cute when she laughs.

I continued to look at her and smiled a bit, only because she was smiling.
"How's that funny?" I asked.
She tried to reply but ended up laughing, even more. I started laughing too. It was as if the laughter was contagious. My laughter ceased, I climbed down the ladder and landed on the ground. Amethysts laughing finally came to an end as I grabbed my book and turned back towards her.

I heard people laughing outside and that's when I remembered, Rose said Amethyst and I weren't allowed to talk until the end of the week or just until Rose decided we learned our lesson. However, she did say we could talk about our work while working.

"We're not allowed to talk unless it's about our jobs. Remember?" I said in a hushed tone.

"So what? No body's gonna know." Amethyst replied facetiously.

She sat up and gestured for me to sit next to her. I shook my head.

"I don't want to get caught, I'm sorry."

I headed back up the ladder, threw my book on my bed, but just before I crawled onto my bed Amethyst lightly grabbed my foot.
"Come on Pearl. I'm so bored and there's nothing to do!" She said lazily while looking up at me with puppy dog eyes and a frown.

"Take a nap?" I asked and shook my foot free. I crawled on my bed, leaned up against the wall and opened my book to chapter 18, the chapter I was on before my book practically flew out of my hands.

Amethyst stood up and took a few steps on the ladder and looked over at me. She was short so I had to lead forward a bit to see her face.

"Can I take a nap next to you?" She said smiling. Was she joking?

I tried to hide my face in my book, I'm blushing. I laughed it off and made sure to clear any bit of joy off of my face.
"Amethyst, Please. You're going to get us in even more trouble if you keep acting like this."

Her face turned neutral and the whole atmosphere changed dramatically.
"I'm going to get us in EVEN more trouble? So you mean that I was the one who got us in trouble in the first place!?" Amethyst said furiously, her voice raw with emotion.

"Well, it was your fault that we didn't head back to camp early in the morning or after we made up. And you kept making talk about how we shouldn't head back." I was only speaking what I thought the truth was. To me, this is the truth.

"You know where everything in the forest is and...and YOU WERE THE ONE WHO RAN AWAY! I just went after you." Amethyst yelled and laid back in her bed. I could tell that she started crying. She got really worked up about it. I heard her mumble to herself, all I heard was "sorry for caring".
"I'm sorry Amethyst, I didn't mean to upset you." I looked under my bed and down at Amethyst, she was faced towards the wall and laying on her side.
"Everybody always blames me for everything." She mumbled.
"I'm sorry Amethyst. I didn't mean it. Please forgive me." I said to her.
"We're not supposed to talk. Remember?" She answered back in a low and annoyed tone. I pulled my head up, laid on my bed and placed my book on my stomach then stared off into space, with an emptied mind. The room was silent for what seemed to be hours. I rolled over, placed my book in the corner of my bed and looked at the wall clock. 8:36. I looked over to the window, it was just starting to get dark out. Since Amethyst and I were pretty much on Cabin Arrest we weren't allowed to go to the camp fire tonight.
I heard everyone talking to one another, everyone came in all at once to grab their jackets and grab their flashlights. Everyone knew what happened to Amethyst and me,  so nobody said anything. I made eye contact with Lapis and she smiled brightly at me. It meant a lot to me and lifted my spirits up a bit. Everyone went outside and headed to the campfire. A light was on in the cabin so there was a dim, soft glow illuminating the room ever so lightly. It had gone completely dark outside. The scenery...it's so peaceful and tranquil that I drifted asleep.
