Camp Universe (Pearlmethyst AU)

Floating

After breakfast everyone from our cabin decided to go swimming, we all took turns changing in the closet. I was the last one to change so I quickly changed into my bathing suit and threw a tank top on top. I came out of the closet and saw Peridot waiting for me. "Hey. You look great." she said and smiled at me. "Thanks for waiting for me." I replied. We started walking towards the beach "Where's Pearl?" I asked. 

"Oh. Lapis asked is she could walk with her to the water. I think they like each other." Peridot answered. I sighed, does this mean that she doesn't like me? Peridot gasped and looked at me "Do you like her?" 

I blushed, "Why would you think that?"

"Well this camp has like no straight people." She laughed a bit and continued "And besides I kind of have a thing for Lapis, but she doesn't really know." We got to the beach and everyone was in the water. Peridot ran straight into the water and to Lapis who was swimming with Jasper. I saw Pearl chatting with Sapphire and Ruby in the water. I took off my tank top, threw it on the sand then jumped in the water. I wouldn't really call it a beach because there was barely any waves. I poked my head out of the water and saw Pearl swimming towards me. 

She smiled and said "Hey." 

"Hi." I replied, bobbing my head on the water. The water was pretty nice. We swam deeper into the water and it got colder. Pearl started splashing me, so I splashed her back. We chatted about how nice it was outside then suddenly found ourselves separated from everyone else; there was no currents, I guess we just swam away from them without realizing it. We swam in circles for a while then Pearl stopped and floated on her back so I did too. "Isn't this nice?" She said calmly. "Yeah." I replied. 

She looked over at me "Can I ask you something?" 

"Sure." I continued looking at the sky.

"Do you like me?" she said hesitantly.

I blushed and looked at her "Yes. Do you like me?"

"Yeah." 

We both laughed awkwardly, she moved closer to me and we held hands, we looked away from each other, we both stared at the sky for what felt like forever and said nothing else.
