Normal POV

"You guys ready?" Devin and I nod, grab our stuff, and head out into the hallway.

"Where are we headed?" Devin asks the guys.

"The closest diner we can find." A.J. supplied. That brought a couple laughs.

We pile into Joey's car: Joey in the driver's seat, A.J. got shotgun, and Devin sat in the middle of Brian and I in the back seat. Once we got out of campus, Joey turned on the radio and we all sang along but it was randomly interrupted if we spotted something.

About ten minutes later, we pulled into a suitable diner. We walked in and asked the hostess for a table for five. She kinda eyed us like she was afraid we were hooligans which wasn't far off because Joey and Brian were trying to tickle each other. Eventually we got the two guys to settle down and we got seated. As we looked through the menu we made a bit of conversation.

"So how were classes today, guys?" Brian asked.

Joey just gave a thumbs up. Devin went on to explain what she was doing in her English classes with some modern twists on classic literature. A.J. talked about some of the music classes he took this morning. I didn't really respond because I was engrossed in deciding what food I wanted. I finally chose right as the waiter came around. We all ordered and Joey turned his attention to me.

"How has Michigan been so far Charlie?"

"It's been great. The classes are great and the people are beyond wonderful." That earned some smiles. "And I've kept my anxiety attacks to a minimum." Next to me, Dev puts her arm around me, Across the table, the boys look surprised and concerned, especially Joey.

"What?!" The three guys demand.

I shrug. "I had one last night. They happen when I get really worked up, frustrated or upset about things."

Brian, A.J. and Joey seemed to immediately pick up on the fact it was about my past so they sort of backed off. Sort of. "Charlie, it's okay. You're here now. Not there. We care about you."

"Charlotte, we are here to be trusted. You own the stage so I think you can own how you live your life. You can do it well."

"Now that you told us this, Dev, I think you'll have to call the three of us if it happens again. I don't think my roommate will survive if you don't." Joey and I blush while everyone laughed.

"Thanks guys."

"At this point, I think we've sorted out this particular attack. Right, Char?" Devin looks at me with a knowing look.

"Basically." The guys looked relieved.

The waiter brings our food around and we happily dig in. We make comments on how good everything is and how Brian looked like a chipmunk as he stuffed his face full of French fries. We quickly finish our lunches because we really had to get back for class.

As we pile back into the car, I ask something that's been on my mind for a while. "So what exactly is this class? It's listed as Free Theatre. I don't understand it."

"It's totally awesome. It's three hours of doing basically anything. You know, but theatrery." Joey was so excited that he swerved a little bit.

"You can watch musicals on the internet, play instruments." Brian even looked pretty excited.

A.J. seemed the most excited out of the guys. "You can even write musicals, rehearse them, and compose music. The professor helps you edit and critique."
