The Legend of Zelda: Return of the Twilight: Part One

CHAPTER 23: MEET ZANT

(A/N: MUSIC INCLUDED! Please play it when a certain someone arrives! Also, yeah, at the time when I ACTUALLY wrote this, I felt tired and bored and never really wrote too much. Basically something terrible happens to a little imp like in the original Twilight Princess after Lakebed Temple. Please bear with me 😅 Also, since I want some content in this to be original, Nyroc is no longer a Neverbeast! He is now a Dragon! An awesome Dragon! Who is wingless. But still awesome! Changed him last second I'll draw a picture and post it later. Anyways on with the story!)

Link, Meena and Midna warped into Lanayru Spring. They were on the ledge that Link and Midna warped to last time they were here. And sure enough, a flash of light blazed in the cave. Link and Meena shielded their eyes while Midna quickly went back in Link's shadow. Then, a purple light glowed as a key appeared before their very eyes.

Link and Meena moved their arms from their eyes and both gasped staring bewildered at the mystical item. "O thy heroes... Listen to my part of the puzzle for it is the last... You listened to my sisters... I the Spirit of Wisdom shall tell forth thy part..." A female voice said in a calming, soft, thick accent voice which gave Meena tingles.

"... Some say that things always come in threes, and treasures unlocked by those with the keys... "... The gifts they can give will come at no cost, find them and you will find what was lost... "... Do you seek reason? Bravery? Are you drifting through hours?" All of a sudden, a blue light shone on the left side of the purple light as a red light shone on the right side.

Link and Meena gasped as they listened. "... Go forth in the darkness... Consult the three powers..." All the spirits' voices chanted in unison. Then all the lights dispersed into blue, red and purple sparkles slowly drifting down into the water of Lanayru Spring. The Key of Wisdom floated towards them and landed in Meena's hands.

Link and Meena both listened carefully. Midna slowly peeked from behind Link's leg half out of his shadow. She listened too. "... Forgot his abilities, and could only concede what came from the soil grew out of need... "... Together they work even at their weakest, to provide a way when the world's at its bleakest... "... Can nearly be hidden, in one's blind spot..." The voice disappeared as the red light dimmed and was gone. Normal sunlight filled the cave.

The key slowly floated down towards the two heroes and landed in Link's hands. He looked at it then back at Meena. "What do you this all means?" He asked. Meena shrugged. "I think we need to go look for three powers. Three sages! Three sisters! Sages of Time, Courage and Wisdom!" She said. Midna came out of Link's shadow and looked at the key. "I'm sure we will figure it out and find them all!" Midna said. "I think they each have three tools left by the Goddesses to fix the Mirror of Twilight!" Midna said in sudden realization.

Link and Meena looked at each other then back at Midna smiling. "Yeah!" Link said. Meena smiled at Midna. Midna giggled. "Hey, where did Victoria go?" Midna asked looking around her. Link and Meena had a worried look cross their faces. They looked at each other then around. "Actually, we need to talk to you about something." Link said seriously.

Midna looked at them. "Hm?" She said. Meena sighed. "Alright, you know how Link and I apparently can have prophetic dreams or whatever?" Meena asked. Midna nodded. Link sighed. "Well, don't take this the wrong way, but we both had the same nightmare last night." Link said. Midna looked at them shocked. "Huh?" She said. Meena rolled her eyes.

"Ugh! We had the same dream okay?! Victoria and Rin were both working for someone they referred to as their "God", the whole time and tricked the three of us. Or four including Zelda. So, we killed them both, all four of us..." "... And right before Meena and I could even touch each other, a giant crimson crystal separated us imprisoning Meena. She started to suffocate as she and I both kept bashing it..." "... Someone was laughing and taunted Link because he couldn't rescue me. I was about to die..." "... Until we both woke up. Meena screamed no when she woke up." Link said looking down.
