She is sitting in front of him, her eyes distant, her words clipped with formal tone. His heart ache as he longed to reach to her. He wanted to pull her into his embrace but now he didn't have any right to do so.

"Janta hu bahut kuchh puchna hoga tumhe...."

"Nhi." She interrupted. "Bas batana hai. Mai wapas London jaa rahi hu" She spoke. He looked at her hoping that he had heard something wrong, may be his ears had deceived him.

But no.

" Tumne ek case liya hai Aadhya uski hearing se pehle hi chali jaogi"He asked trying to not reflect  his vulnerability in his voice.

"Aap wo case lad lijiyega" She spoke without looking at him.

"Aarti ji ne tumhe case diya hai. Achanak jane ki wajah jaan sakta hu" He asked. She didn't reply though her silence answered.

"Agar wajah mai hu to mat jao" He pleaded. "Mujhe apna dayra pta hai. Mai kabhi usse nhi lagaunga." He waited for her to reply but she remain rooted at her place, firm at her decision.

"Itna to bharosha karo apne pa...sakha babu per" His voice cracked as he spoke.

"Barrister babu" She correctedand looked up at him." Ab se behtar yahi hoga ki hum apna professional hi rakhe."She spoke, her voice clipped with professionalism. He nodded silently trying to get along with the fact that he who once was her world, now didn't held even a tiniest place in her world.
"Hum per jo attack hua hai wo Humare case ko strong bana sakta hai" she spoke trying to keep the heaviness of her heart at bay.

He nodded and the conversation drifted towards the complexity of case and plan that had to be followed.

The wind was softly brushing against the leaves of the trees, creating soft ruffling sound. Somewhere at some distance a cricket was creeping singing its own melody.

Anirudh was standing near the window, his eyes fixed on the moon, though his mind was devoid of any thought, any kind of emotions. His wait of years had ended. His Bondita was back with new name, new identity. She had achieved everything that he had once dreamt for her. She had broken every fetter of traditions and was soaring high to conquer the sky.And in her new journey he was nowhere just like a shadow in darkness that has no existence of its own.

He was happy for Bondita. There shouldn't be any doubt about that. He had devoted his every breath for her but now when he had fulfilled all his responsibilities he didn't what to do anymore he like a hollow log that flows with stream without any awareness about its journey.

"Barrister Babu aapke kapdo me se jo kagaj mila hai table per rakh deta hu" Bihari spoke while puting  papers on the table. " Dekh lijiyega'

Anirudh sighed and turned towards the table. Slowly he walked towards table at started looking at each paper one by one. He paused when his eyes fall on a specific letter - letter written by Bondita that she had given him before their journey. So much happened after that he had completely forgotten about it.

He picked up the letter , his thumb slowly caresses it like some prized possesion the paper beneath as if the paper itself was breathing with memories, fragile but alive in his hand.He slowly opened the letter like he was opening windows of his heart.

"Priya Sakha Babu,"

Aaj bahut dino ke baad phir se khat likh rahi hu. Aap soch rahe honge ki roj milne ke baad bhi khat kyu likha hai maine. Jo baat thi samne keh deti.

Jab Bharat aayi thi to bas aapki shishya banna chahti thi per aapne mujhe apni dost banne ka mauka diya. Janti hu mushkil hoga aapke liye phir se dosti ke rishte ko ek mauka. Phir se dosti per vishwas karna. Aur shayad aapke issi vishwas ke karan ye khat likh rahi hu main. Aapke Vishwas ko todna nhi chahti.
