"I see," [Y/N] said. She took a bite of her salad.
"You cook as well, if I remember correctly," Dark stated.
The female nodded, confirming his statement.
He smiled as a thought crossed his mind.
"We'll have to cook together sometime. If you're up for it that is. From how I've seen Link react, you're quite talented when it comes to cooking. I'm sure you'll be able to teach me many things, hopefully allowing me to make meals not as bland as they are now."
[Y/N] just gave a short nod.
The man's smile widened a bit. An image of the two of them in the kitchen together made him happy, to say the least.
They then returned to silence as the H/C finished her salad.
Once done, Dark took her bowl and headed to the kitchen to wash it and put it away. He returned and stood next to his love.
"I'll walk you to your room," he said.
[Y/N] stood up and nodded.
With that, the pair exited the dining room. The journey through the mansion was quiet but comfortable, even for the new female it housed. The shadow being was glad at how they walked. Instead of walking behind him, the female moved next to him, indicating she was more comfortable with his presence than when she first arrived around almost a full day earlier.
Arriving at the woman's room, Dark opened the door.
"Make sure to get some rest," he commented. "You've been up for almost a whole day. I assume that you're not done with writing your experiences for the history book, which I also assume you which to continue. You need sleep to keep your mind sharp and be able to recall your memories. There's some clothes in the chest for you to change into."
"Thanks," [Y/N] replied. "I'll try." She gave a small smile before entering her new room.
"Of course. Goodnight." He returned the smile.
"Night."
Dark closed the door and walked away, the female's smile staying prominent in his mind.
[Y/N] moved to the large chest at the end of the end. Opening it, she did indeed find it filled with clothes. There were a variety of pieces from tops, pants, both for every day and sleep ware, and even undergarments. She grabbed a set of clothes and closed the chest. Proceeding to change, she threw her dirty clothes next to the chest. She'd ask Dark what to do with them in the morning.
She took a few steps and stood next to the bed. Getting in, she couldn't help but mentally comment on how comfortable it was. The mattress was firm but not firm enough to the point it felt like laying on the floor, it sank just enough to curve to her body and support her. The sheets were smooth and thin but thick enough to keep in heat and make her comfortable. The pillows were soft but stiff enough to support her neck and head. If she was honest, it was more comfortable than the bed she and Link shared.
Relaxing, the H/C stared at the grey canopy above her. Her mind wandered to boyfriend, if she could call him that anymore. She wondered how he was doing. Had he thought about the fact that she didn't come home? Did he get her note? Did he just shrug it off and go on about their meeting with Zelda, or did he piece together that something was off? Was he looking for her? Was he taking her absence as a blessing?
She knew for a while that she must have been a burden or annoyance to him as he had begun to ignore her whenever he possibly could, only speaking to her when necessary. The thought of her disappearance being a good thing for him brought tears to her eyes. Another thought quickly popped up in her mind.
Was her absence, instead of being a good thing, more of a hassle for Link? Usually, they split their responsibilities evenly among themselves, but, now that she was gone, the hero had more things to handle and deal with. Sure, the man was capable of handling things on his own, he did so before they met and managed quite well, but the idea of leaving things she normally did to him without warning made her feel guilty.
She originally figured she'd be doing Link a favor by ridding him of her, clearly irritating, presence, but now she thought of herself as selfish. Maybe she should have just finished crafting their arrows, returned to their home, slept on the couch, and discussed breaking up with him in the morning before setting off to met Zelda. Of course, it was clearly too late for that.
Her mind then traveled from her 'boyfriend' to his counterpart that discovered her moments before ending her life.
Despite what others said about him, Dark was obviously capable of caring. He cared enough to stop her from offing herself and taking her away from the toxic relationship she was in. He cared enough to remember her preferences, even if he did learn them through stalking her in a way. He also cared enough to not hide the truth of his original plan to use her, despite that no longer being the case, and didn't hide the fact that he loathed his counterpart for treating her poorly. He was even respectful and made sure to not cross any boundaries, seeing as he could tell that she was sensitive and wasn't truly over Link. He, without actually saying it, said he would wait for her to get used to him and not push her into loving him, the way he claimed to love her.
Seeing as he had a room ready for her when he brought her to his home, Dark must have been waiting to take her away from Link for a while, but hadn't until now, probably anticipating something like this would happen eventually. With that in mind, [Y/N] came to the conclusion that he meant what he said about caring deeply for her.
She couldn't deny that he made her feel comfortable and not like a burden, which the shadowy male made a point to tell her she wasn't. She wasn't entirely sure that his actions weren't just an act to get her to trust him and use it against the blonde hero, although he claimed that to no longer be the case. For now, [Y/N] figured she would stay with the man that practically saved her from herself, she'd figure out if he was manipulating her during that time. If it turns out he was, she'd find a way to leave.
With that final thought, the female closed her eyes and let exhaustion take her over, falling asleep.
