After a month of living in my new house I decided to start walking in the woods. I would normally walk at my old house. So I figured I should keep myself in shape in my solitude. And yet... I never felt like I really was in solitude. But I wasn't going to let that stop me from doing what I enjoyed doing.
Going through my back door and heading for the woods. Walking through the trees making me have a sense of security. Almost like the trees were guarding me. Looking around I listened to all of the sounds. The leaves rustling on the trees and bushes around me. Birds singing in the sky, as the animals on the ground ran through the grass and into their homes. Almost like they were running from something. After a few moments of me walking I realized some were running past me... should I be running too?
I looked behind me, wondering what was happening. Seeing nothing out of the ordinary I figured there must have been a hawk or something that the smaller animals were running from. There couldn't have been very large predators in this forest... right? I don't know. My pace quickly picked up.
After walking for around about an hour I decided to start heading back, when the sounds of running water filled my ears. My curiosity peaked. I decided to follow that calming sound.
As the sound got louder, the more... safe I felt. Being near water and no longer really feeling that constant feeling of being watched. Like whatever it was decided to leave me alone. Water. A river. A river lay before me, a rather dark green. And yet... the water seemed so clear. Small and rather nice sized fish could be seen at the bottom. But I'm not sure how deep this river really goes, so I wont test my luck. It was beautiful. The trees and wilderness really brought this whole place together.
I say it as if it's a home...silly of myself really but it's just a perfect sight to see. I stood there for several minutes. Just watching, listening. Before beginning my way back home. I will most definitely be coming back here.
