POV of Melissa

"Abraxas!" the Queen called from her throne. Running from her chair and coming to hug her first born. "Mother." he greeted softly as he wrapped his arms around her small form. "It is so wonderful to see you safe. How was your..." she cleared her throat. "Um... hunting trip?" she asked softly which caused a cruel smile to cover his lips. "Very well." he responded which made me shudder. How could he be so cruel? They parted from their hug, the king standing behind his wife. "Son." he greeted. "Father." Abraxas spat cold heartedly. Talk about tension.

"I see you have met our dear Melissa already." the Queen said softly. She stepped over to me, her soft hand laying on my shoulder. Abraxas glared at me. "Indeed I have." he growled. "And... you laid a and on her." she whispered. "I did." he agreed. "For what purpose?" the King growled angrily. "Witch." Abraxas mumbled. "Witch? No, Abraxas, you've misunderstood. Melissa is very special. She has incredible power." the Queen said softly. "Adelaide..." came the Kings' warning. Why don't I like his warning?

"Where is Felix?" Abraxas asked curiously. "Tending to a girl whom was wounded in the fire." I piped. "What girl?" he asked, his glare never wavering as he dared me to speak. "A cook, and Lilith." I said. His dark features paled, "Lilith?" He questioned. "She was hurt?" I nodded to him. "Yes, brother she was. Why does this shake you so much?" Tony finally spoke. Causing Abraxas to clear his throat. "No reason, she is my sister and I care for her." he said glaring his way. A growl erupted from Tony as their stare held. "Temper, temper." Abraxas said softly as they seemed to circle each other.

The Queen pulled me back away from the two. I could smell the tension and unbelievable blood lust that went throughout this room. They wanted to kill each other... but why? Be safe, please. I pleaded to Tony, hoping he wouldn't get hurt. I have always been safe in a fight against him, I've never lost. He told me. They looked like wolves, sizing the other up and waiting for the correct moment to strike.

For Abraxas, he thought that moment came a little too soon. He launched toward Tony with blinding speed. Good thing I wasn't human so I could see it. Tony flipped his brother over his shoulder with ease. Abraxas sliding on the slick marble floor, still on his feet. He lunged again, but Tony was ready. As Abraxas came down, trying to strike a blow Tony simply grabbed his fist and pulled him to the ground. The marble denting in where Abraxas was being held. He tried to get up but failed, Tony's form holding him hostage.

Tony leaned toward his brother and whispered words that no usual vampire could even hear. "Remember who is really the first born of our parents, brother." He spat  the word like a poison in his ear. What was that supposed to mean? Abraxas was older than Tony... but Tony was the first born. That made no sense unless... Abraxas was... adopted?

The Queen clapped her hands jolting me from my thoughts. "Now that you two have had your fun, Abraxas, go check on your sister and ask Cecil how she is doing." she said. Tony getting off his body, Abraxas leaving immediately. Giving me one last glare before completely shutting the door.

The Queen laughed nervously as she looked to me and then sighed. "He's changed so much.." she mumbled. "He wreaks of wolf stench." Tony growled. "That's what that smell was?" I asked. He smelt of trees and burning wood. I guess that makes sense. I guess the feud between wolves and vamps were actually real. "I don't feel comfortable with him around Lilith..." I mumbled as I ran in the direction of the door. "Be careful dear!" the Queen called after me.

As soon as I walked through the door I heard choked breathing. Like someone was gasping for air. Creeping down the hall, I was relieved to see it wasn't Lilith being choked. But scared that it was actually Cecil. "My Lord... please, I didn't do-" Abaraxas cut him off. "You let her burn." he growled. "I saved her from the flames that kissed at her delicate skin. It is her job to punish me not yours Sir Abaraxas. Please, until my mistress wakes up I must be near her at all times." he choked out although his words were cut every other time he spoke. He's so loyal to her.

"Put him down Abraxas!" I screamed. When he didn't let go my wings extended. These things have a mind of their own, jeez! Lifting me up into the air, my wings flew me into Abraxas, knocking his muscular form over and freeing Cecil. Abraxas growled as Cecil choked and gagged on the floor.

Immediately I removed myself from Abaraxas and ran to Cecil's side. "Are you okay?" I asked. "Peachy." he whispered as he regained his lungs and breath. "Thank you, Melissa." he whispered as I helped him up. I looked at Abraxas, having heard his distinct and snarky chuckle. "Disgusting. You, helping a pet?" he growled. "I help what I once was." I said, my tone coming out more demanding than I've ever heard it. He groaned in disdain. "My brother is due to marry a slave? How pathetic." he said as he started stalking toward me. "From what I heard you're not really his brother, are you?" I asked which made his muscles tense. "I may not be blood to him, but I have always protected and been his older brother, where as he, has done nothing but been trouble." he said, talking down and in my face to me.

"What trouble?" I asked making him chuckle. "Just like him not to tell you. Wander around this wing and you will understand what sort... 'fun' my brother is into." he said quietly. I stared into his deep blue eyes, wondering why he looked so similar to Tony. Through his eyes I could tell he wasn't lying. "Watch yourself Abraxas. Even if I find out something about Tony I do not like, he is still my mate and he always will be. If I find you hurting Cecil, Clara, or anyone in this castle again I will personally rid you of your head." I warned as I walked passed him and walked into the room that smelt of Lilith. Hearing her groan as I opened the door. Once again, being scared by the tone in my own voice.

"Lilith!" I shouted. Her small frame laying on the floor, facing the door. "I heard Cecil... in... trouble." She coughed out. "I took care of it." I whispered as I lifted her into my arms. She was in a small room with a hospital feel. It was overly clean and porcelain, a little perfect to be a normal room. I laid her form on the bed that matched her frame.

Cecil came sprinting in after me. "Mistress." he said as he starred at her. "I'm fine little pet. Just a few burns." she whispered. "Yes, five degree burns Mistress. They could kill you." he said which made her laugh softly. "You wouldn't mind now would you? You'd be free." she said quietly. He shook his head, "Mistress Lilian I do not wish to be free of you. You are my mistress, and my most dear friend." he whispered softly as he sat beside her bed on one knee. "If you do not wish to see my end, then find Felix." she whispered. As soon as Felix's name left her lips Cecil was gone.

I went to leave, until her frail hand grabbed mine. "Stay." she ordered. I looked down at her. I've never seen her look so weak, so broken. It was scary. "Abraxas." she whispered, her tone now becoming harsh. I didn't even hear him walk in. "Yes, Lilith?" he asked. "The moment I am better. I will ruin you, for touching my pet." she growled. He nodded softly "I await your getting better, it will be a moment to remember when you have stopped acting like a child." he growled. "At least I cherish my young age. You ruined yours." she said quietly which made him storm out.

"Lilith? What do you mean ruined?" I asked her softly, wishing to know more of Abraxas. "Abraxas was found by my father, when he was only four years old. Such a vulnerable time for us vampires. No fangs, no strength, no speed. We are human in disguise when we are children. Abraxas nearly died from the same vampire that killed his family, his father, mother, and sister. He's cared for our family ever since he stopped aging and became one of us completely. He kept Tony, Felix, and myself safe for many centuries. I am only one hundred and twenty one, still young for vampires and I like to cherish what I can because I know my brother didn't have much of one. He went to school like a human, he graduated like one. He hates our kind but my family is an exception. He is strong but blinded by hatred and cruelty. He had no friends, never played with me, and only stood guard. He never had any fun." she said softly. Seeming to regain some strength as her explanation went on. She's never seemed so weak and strong at the same time. She was truly a marvel to see.
