ADITI

"Mai toh sapne mai bhi tumse uchi Awaaz mai baat nai kr skta" he whispered calmly.

[I couldn’t raise my voice at you even in my dreams]

I blushed and hugged him back. After a while, I tried to pull away, but he wouldn’t let me go instead, he held me even tighter. I could feel his heartbeat, uneven and fast, against my chest.

"I don’t know why I got angry at the guard earlier" he murmured. "I don’t know what I was thinking."

But I knew exactly why he had reacted that way. He wasn’t angry at the guard at all he was somewhere feeling hurt when Aditya had called him my parent. No matter how much we try to act mature, some things still manage to make us feel insecure.

After we got out of the elevator he dropped my inside my classroom and then went to work

After the test was over, Pragya, Diksha, and I were sitting in a café. They were busy eating their sandwiches when Pragya looked at me and asked, "Aren’t you going to order something for yourself?"

"No, my lunch will be delivered, so-" I began, but before I could finish my sentence, a delivery boy arrived with my lunchbox and an envelope. He handed them to me.

"I won’t be able to eat all this for a few days" I said with a small sigh. "Daksh has put me on a strict diet
I’m only allowed to eat this salad."

"Oh?" Her gaze drifted to the envelope, and then she looked at me with a teasing sparkle in her eyes.

"Oh wow, Daksh ji has been taking extra good care of you these days" Diksha said with a smirk. "Who knows, maybe he’s even sent a love letter in that envelope"

"What? This?" I chuckled. "No, no it’s just my medicine. I forgot it in the car in a hurry, so he sent it along" I said, eating my salad, carefully hiding the warmth rising to my cheeks.

"God, Aditi, your husband is so caring" Pragya said, smiling. "From your food to your medicines he takes care of everything."

But Diksha cut her off instantly.
"If he cares this much, he could’ve at least sent a little 'I love you' note, right? Tell me, Aditi am I wrong?"

I was about to answer, but Pragya spoke before I could.

"Maybe he feels shy" she said gently. "He probably knows we’re with Aditi right now. These things are private between couples."

Diksha rolled her eyes.
"What nonsense! Since when is saying 'I love you' to your own wife something to be shy about? Honestly, I don’t feel at peace unless my boyfriend says 'I love you' to me at least ten times a day."

I blinked, unsure of how to respond.

"Well, maybe Daksh does say it to Aditi" Pragya added teasingly, nudging me lightly. "He just doesn’t say it in front of us. Right, Aditi? He says it to you, doesn’t he?"

I swallowed, my expression going blank as I looked away. Both of them stared at me, confused.

"What?" they asked. "He says it, right?"
I slowly shook my head.

"Huh?"

"H-he… not even once" I admitted looking here and there.

"What?!"They both exclaimed at the same time.
