ADITI

"I hate him!!!" I scowled, rolling my eyes, while Diksha, Pragya, and Aditya laughed so hard they were practically on the floor.

"By the way, didn't say anything wrong though?" Aditya said, trying to control his laugh. "I mean, you look exactly the way he described you. And honestly, your nose does run quite well. The guy's just brutally honest."

I shot him a glare. "My hand works pretty well too. Want me to test it on your face?"

That only made him laugh harder.

"Bro, is your husband praising you or bullying you?" Diksha said between giggles.

I sighed deeply and shook my head. "All he does is make fun of me" I snapped, folding my arms in frustration.

"He enjoys pulling my leg all the time" I went on, irritation spilling out. "And here I was, expecting him to finally open up and say his inner feelings. But no he just started listing my flaws instead!"

Diksha laughed again and shrugged. "Men are like that, yaar. In the beginning of marriage, they're all sweet talk and romance. Later, they just start making fun of their wives. That's where they find their entertainment."

She tilted her head at me teasingly. "You sure your husband isn't slowly turning into one of those husbands?"

I frowned, the thought sinking in far deeper than I wanted to admit.
"No, he's really not like that" I said softly, lowering my gaze. "He's a very good person. He respects me a lot."

"Oh, come on" Diksha scoffed. "Stop defending your husband already. I honestly don't think he'll ever say what's in his heart out loud. You should just accept that your husband isn't emotionally expressive."

Before her words could sink in, Pragya cut in.
"No, that's not true" she said firmly. "I think Daksh just doesn't know how to express his feelings properly. Maybe he feels shy about saying what he actually feels, and that's why he ends up messing it up and saying something completely random."

Her words made me pause.
"So then what should we do then?" Diksha asked, turning to Pragya "to bring out his real feelings?"

"Something that makes his honest emotions come out" Pragya replied thoughtfully. "Something that almost pushes him to say desperatelybhow much he loves Aditi."

That made my heart flutter, and my thoughts started racing.
Diksha let out a small laugh. "Honestly, Daksh seems like the cold, reserved type to me. I don't think he'll open up so easily, no matter what you try."

"But that's exactly the problem" I said quietly, voicing the question that had been spinning in my head. "What do I do to make that happen?"

"Don't listen to all this" Diksha said, waving her hand dismissively.

"Honestly, I think you should take a little revenge on your husband. Where did he even get the guts to make fun of you like that? I'm telling you make him jealous. Really jealous. Watch how fast that man falls back in line, and then you can come tell me I was wrong."

I stared at Diksha, completely done with her nonsense.
"Have you gone mad?" I said, shaking my head. "I'm trying to get him to open up about his feelings, and you want me to make him jealous and create even more problems between us? No, thanks. Keep your ideas to yourself."

"Uhh... actually, I think Diksha might be right, Aditi" Pragya said hesitantly.
Both of us turned to look at her in surprise.

"I mean" Pragya continued carefully ca person can hide almost any emotion but jealousy? That's really hard to hide. If you try this, it might actually bring the two of you closer."
