You were leaning against the wall in the quad, reading a book and sipping your morning coffee, the soft chill in the air making it the absolute perfect day. Through all the chatter of the students, you heard Bianca call out to Enid, brushing it off, knowing it was a normal occurrence. But then, your wolf ears perked up the moment you heard the response.
"Coming, guys!" Wednesday replied excitedly. Immediately you looked up. You had never heard your girlfriend that sickeningly cheery, even when you gifted her an antique typewriter for your anniversary a few months back. Enid instantly grabbed her arm, almost angrily, pulling her toward her and muttering something before rushing off.
You watched as your girlfriend began to make her way through the quad, waving at one girl you didn't even know the name of, and smiling at another. Now it was obvious that something was seriously wrong, so you began to make your way over. Just as Agnes appeared in front of Wednesday, a cup of coffee sent flying into the grass.
"Way to go, you little psycho!" Wednesday exclaimed, the amount of emotion in her voice drawing the attention of everyone around. Before Agnes could reply or anyone else could turn their heads, you quickened your pace and gently placed your hand on her lower back.
"Cara mia... what's wrong?" You asked softly, practically whispering so that no one else would hear. You were expecting the usual 'Everything. Just the way I like it.' in that gorgeous monotone voice, but you were met with something completely different. She practically jumped at your touch, spinning around with so little grace you were surprised she stayed balanced.
"Oh... babe!" She laughed nervously, her eyes immediately avoiding yours as she moved your arm off her awkwardly. "I uhh... I just... I totally forgot to tell Agnes I changed my order. Just uhh caffeine deprivation." Before you got the chance to reply, she practically bounded over to the coffee cart, leaving you and Agnes standing together.
"What the hell was that?" You asked, looking down at the small redhead, who somehow looked even more confused than you did. She shrugged, her eyes glued to the coffee cart where your girlfriend stood, looking more and more bewildered by the second.
Your gaze moved back up to see what she was so entranced by, and your heart practically stopped in horror. There she was, Wednesday Addams, holding one of the most colorful drinks you had ever seen in your life and skipping back towards the dorms.
"Wednesday, wait!" You called after her, beginning to jog to catch up. What the hell was she thinking? Just a week after you started dating, you accidentally wore a colorful bracelet and gave her hives when you held hands. So this would surely send her into anaphylaxis within minutes. "Love, slow down!" But she was already in the building, rushing up the stairs, the drink halfway done.
You knew that this was gonna end poorly, so you quickly sprinted to your dorm room, where you had some of the cream Morticia had made for times like these. You threw the door open and rushed to your bedside table, grabbing the small container before heading back toward where you last saw her.
As you rounded the corner toward her dorm, you suddenly heard her voice in the bathroom, along with her mother's, your heart immediately calming. If she was with Morticia and actively talking, that meant that she wasn't dying from an allergic reaction.
You slowly pushed the door open, catching the end of Wednesday saying 'bye, mom' before trying to slip past you. You gently grasped her arm to stop her, your eyes watching her every reaction.
"Amore, just slow down, please." You murmured breathlessly, not caring that her mother was still watching. All you wanted to do was figure out what the hell was going on with her. But just like before, she moved out of your grasp.
