The car rolled past the massive iron gates, pulling up in front of the Jeon estate. Y/n’s stomach tightened as she looked up at the towering mansion of Jungkook's dad, before her gaze diverted towards Jungkook

"Why are we here?" she asked quietly
She had only been here once before, and the memory still clung to her in an unpleasant way.

Jungkook didn’t bother to answer, letting her question hang in the air as the heavy front doors opened

He stepped out of the car first, adjusting his coat, before Y/n followed with hesitant steps. She let out a sigh, her chest tight.

The butler was already waiting at the door, tall and neat, his face lined with age but softened by a practiced smile

Jungkook walked toward Y/n and casually held his hand out. She took it, her eyes flicking up at his cold, unreadable face

“You know how to always put me in uncomfortable positions, don’t you?” she whispered under her breath

His lips curved into the faintest smirk, offering no reply

The butler held the door open, and they stepped into the mansion. The massive hall stretched before them, polished marble floors and portraits hanging along the walls.
Y/n felt her heels echo with every step, the sound far too loud in the lifeless silence

“Dad” Jungkook greeted, dipping his head slightly as Mr. Jeon appeared from the end of the hall. His voice carried respect, but no warmth.

Y/n too bowed politely. “Good evening, Dad"

Mr. Jeon’s sharp eyes lingered on her for a moment before a faint hum left him, as he turned and led the way. His men lined neatly along the corridor, lowering their heads as the three passed

Mr. Jeon carried himself with a presence that filled the space. A small smile flickered on his lips, though it never reached his eyes. The air around him felt heavy, almost suffocating

The house was grand, but cold. Every detail was perfectly polished and controlled. Yet it felt empty. Y/n felt even smaller with each step she took

They reached the sitting room when a maid appeared at once, placing a glass of whiskey in Mr. Jeon’s hand and offering tea to Y/n. She accepted, her fingers stiff as they wrapped around the warm cup

Jungkook, on the other hand politely declined, he looked at ease unlike Y/n, leaning back like he belonged to every inch of this house

“How is business?” Mr. Jeon asked, his eyes fixed only on his son

“Steady, the recent shipments were handled without flaw" Jungkook replied smoothly

“Good. That is how it should be.."
Their voices faded into the background for Y/n

She lowered her gaze to her cup, unsure if she should speak or stay quiet. The way they spoke, leaving no space for mistakes made her feel like she wasn’t part of this world at all, which she never was, growing up she didn't want to be a part of this world, she always wanted to run away from it

Soon, the butler reappeared announcing that the dinner was ready

The dining hall stretched wide, chandeliers glowing above the polished table. Mr. Jeon took the head seat, Jungkook sat to his right, and Y/n across from them

At first, the conversation stayed on business. Jungkook answered his father with calm precision, his tone never breaking while Y/n quietly ate, barely tasting anything, her nerves stretched thin
She wasn’t prepared for this. But then again, she was never prepared for anything Jungkook threw her into
