A/n POV
"This feels like old times," Mira sighed dramatically before gulping down the entire glass of whiskey in one shot.
Y/n stared at her in disbelief. "Take it slow, Mira. Those are still your lungs."
"Guess who suddenly wants to live longer now that she got a hot husband waiting at home," Sera rolled her eyes, throwing a peanut straight at Y/n's forehead.
Y/n gasped, giving her a deadly stare
"Excuse you? If I had Jeon Jungkook waiting for me at home, I would want to be immortal too" Mira shrugged
But Y/n let out a tired sigh, leaning back against the velvet couch. The dim golden lights of the lounge reflected against the glasses scattered across the table while soft music vibrated through the crowded space. It wasn't too loud, just enough to drown thoughts for a little while.
And honestly? She needed that tonight.
"Seeing him through the screen yesterday suddenly gave me chills though," Sera continued, resting her chin over her palm. "No offense Y/n, but your husband is scary as hell sometimes."
"Sometimes?" Yema snorted. "That man has been terrifying since the first time I saw him."
"But I liked the way he kissed her that day" Mira suddenly squealed, already tipsy. "in front of everyone, that was such a power move. Freaking hot" she dramatically waved her hands across her face
Y/n nearly choked on her drink, "There is nothing hot about him," she dismissed immediately, her tone sharper than intended.
Everything about him is 'disgusting', but the words stayed inside her head this time.
She grabbed the whiskey glass again before taking another long sip, stronger than the previous one. The burning sensation slid down her throat but still didn't settle the heaviness sitting inside her chest.
Her friends exchanged quick glances at the sudden shift in her mood.
"Whoa, easy there," Mira laughed awkwardly. "Lungs, remember?"
Y/n shot her an unimpressed stare.
"You know what," Yema spoke while pouring more whiskey into Y/n's glass, "new rule. No more talking about men. They're all trash anyway."
"Agreed" Sera nodded immediately.
"What the hell is wrong with this drink?" Y/n frowned suddenly after another sip. "Why does this not feel strong enough anymore?"
"Because your tolerance is concerning," Yema deadpanned.
"We need stronger drinks," Sera announced proudly. "I'm planning to completely black out tonight."
"You cannot drink too much, Y/n."
Kevin's voice suddenly cut through the conversation.
The girls collectively turned toward him.
Right. The bodyguard.
Or more specifically, Jungkook's idea of "letting her have freedom."
Kevin stood a few steps away from their table, dressed completely in black, his expression unreadable as always. Unlike Sheldon, Kevin didn't hover every second or act like a walking security camera reporting everything directly to Jungkook.
Still, his presence reminded her that she wasn't really free here either.
"Who are you to decide that, Mr. Bodyguard?" Sera raised an eyebrow immediately, already offended on Y/n's behalf.
