"Then tell me who made it bad."

Y/n lifted her face to meet Jungkook's eyes through the mirror. For a moment, she hesitated, her fingers tightening slightly against the edge of the stool before she finally stood.

She didn't turn around immediately. Instead, she remained where she was, holding his gaze through the reflection as his hands slowly lowered to his sides behind her.

That was when she noticed it, a brief flash of red. Her eyes immediately dropped toward his right hand.

Before she could even think about it, she turned around and reached for it, taking his hand gently into her own.

There was fresh cuts across his knuckles, the skin around it already stained with the remnants of dried blood.

Y/n carefully turned his hand over, her brows pulling together as she examined it.

"What happened?"

She looked up at him while Jungkook watched her with a quiet amusement that only seemed to deepen when he noticed the concern written plainly across her face.

His eyes followed her movements as she ran her fingers carefully along his wrist, then moved to his other hand and rolled up the sleeves of his shirt to check whether there were any other injuries.

"Bad day at work."

He finally answered her and he said it far too casually, almost dismissively.

"I'll dress it."

She released his hands and immediately walked toward the bedroom cabinet, pulling out the first-aid kit.

Jungkook followed behind her without saying anything, his footsteps quiet against the floor.

"Sit."

She gestured toward the edge of the bed before looking back at him.

For the briefest moment, something twitched at the corner of Jungkook's lips.

Only minutes ago, he had been standing between her knees, ordering her to stay still while tending to her wounds.

Now she was the one standing in front of him with that same quiet determination, expecting him to listen. And perhaps because of that, he actually did.

"It's just a scratch."

Y/n sat down on the floor mat in front of him, placing the first-aid kit beside her before taking his injured hand again.

"You clearly slammed your fist into broken glasses."

She soaked a piece of gauze with antiseptic and carefully pressed it against the cut.

Jungkook didn't even flinch. His attention, however, wasn't on his wound but on her.

The loose robe she wore was still tied carelessly around her waist, the fabric shifting slightly whenever she moved.

Her hair was damp from the shower, a few strands clinging against her cheek and neck.

She was so absorbed in cleaning his hand that she didn't notice the way his gaze lingered over her body for several seconds before returning to her face.

After a moment, she carefully wrapped the gauze around his knuckles.

"There," she murmured, securing it in place. "That should hold."

She was about to get up when his voice stopped her, holding her hands down

"Now tell me why you had a bad day."
