*Artie's P.O.V*
After getting stitched up, Rosie, Gerald and I made our way over to a diner that just so happened to be located right next to the hospital.
I'm sure we must have looked quite awkward entering the place. Gerald's hands were all bandaged up, Rosie opted for an extra large sweater to hide the scar on her arm-spoiler alert, it made her look goofy...and I, well, you already know how I look.
Damn, did I just accidently insult myself?
I shook that thought away as I sat down in a booth. Rosie and Gerald sat across from me.
"I hope we don't ever have to see your psychotic father again," Rosie muttered, shuddering.
"I hope so too," Gerald added on.
The waitress came at that moment. She wore a short white sleeveless dress with a red apron and her blond, frizzy hair cascaded down her shoulders, all the way to her waist. If you ask me, she should have tied it into a bun 'cause there's just no way that pieces of hair haven't found themselves into people's dishes.
"What would you like?" She drawled, chewing bubblegum.
"We'll just get a burger, fries and a chocolate shake each," Gerald responded.
"Awesome," she said, "that'll be thirty dollars."
"Ahem," I said, coughing. I showed her my police badge. "Just so you know, we're with the force—"
The waitress just stared at me, with a dull expression on her face.
"Sir, I mean hooligan, since you don't deserve the title of sir, if you're trying to intimidate me into a free meal, you're failing miserably," she replied, flatly. "In fact..." she scribbled something on her notepad. "Your total is now forty dollars."
Next, she spun around on her XXL heels and walked off.
Gerald smacked his head.
"Nice going, idiot!"
"Yeah, what's wrong with you?" Rosie said, ganging up on me as well. "You fool, do you do this often? Abuse your police power like that?!"
"No," I lied.
"I bet he's lying," Gerald whispered to Rosie.
"I'm with you on that," Rosie whispered back.
I rolled my eyes, and then took a deep breath.
"So, how are you guys doing?" I asked, concerned. We didn't get to talk much at the hospital, so now's the best time. Also, I really wanna change the subject in case you couldn't tell...
Rosie put her arm down on the table, and brought her sleeve up. "Well, honestly, I'm not so happy about having this scar. I sincerely hope it fades but scars rarely do. Still, it's a miracle that I'm even alive..."
I examined her arm.
"It says R on it," my face went pale. "I didn't realize he was going to write your name into your own arm!"
Gerald grabbed Rosie's arm and looked at the scar.
"Ugh, Jamie, I mean Artie, what's your father's name?"
"Richard, but Richie for short," I said, shrugging and then my eyes went wide. "Ooooh..."
"He wasn't going to write her name," Gerald said, quietly. "He was going to—"
"Why on earth would he write R.I.P?!" I thundered. A scowl formed on my face. "My father is so twisted. Writing that before killing..."
"Hmm, that's actually a good theory," Gerald said, impressed. "I was going to suggest that he was planning to write his own name because werewolves are known to mark their territory but R.I.P is also a possibility considering how batshit crazy he was. An unhinged psychopath, if you will. No offense, Artie."
