*A Year and a Half Later*

Life was simply amazing as I poured a cup of coffee for my boyfriend Derek Prince. He was tall, dark, handsome and very much alive...all thanks to me.

At first, we lived in a cottage far, far away from humanity on some remote island with a population of only two people. In case you're wondering who those two people were...well, you should KNOW! YOU REALLY SHOULD!

But eventually we decided to move back into the city-correction, country. Right now, we're living in the prairie and my god, Derek was born both a natural charmer and a successful businessman because within a year, we were one of the richest people in that area. It's in his blood, I tell you. And I kid you not, I did not use any magic on him!

...well, OK, I did use some magic, but only temporarily to bend some of his memories. The poor guy had nightmares of his death...so I took those memories away. You can call me a twisted obsessed bitch if you want, but I'd like to think of myself as a protective sexy seductress.

I was so lucky to have this loyal man by my side. Sucks for all those other gals who are dating womanizing assholes.

Anyways...

As an angel, I've always been told that I would be unable to bear a hybrid offspring...or so I thought...

Derek was reading the news on his phone while I gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

"Can you believe this?" He snorted. "'Rich playboy bachelor loses it and attacks innocent bystanders.' Fred's always had a short fuse, but my god, this is ridiculous. Still, I refuse to return to that godforsaken place..."

"Well," I said, "the media does like to twist shit around."

"True," Derek mused, still scrolling. "Still, those images aren't a good look for him."

I chuckled. "Definitely."

After Derek finished his coffee, he kissed me goodbye and walked out the door. I went into the garden to tend to the bright rainbow colored flowers.

I don't mean to brag, but my flowers are the best in this town. Do I use magical enhancements? Yes...but-ughhhhhh...owwwwwwwwwwww....

All of a sudden, my head started throbbing.

"What the---?" I gasped, as I lost my footing and crumpled towards the floor. I could feel my face heating up as my vision blurred. "Whaaaaat's wrong with me?"

I continued to gasp for air.

To my horror, blood leaked out of my mouth. I balled up my fists while silently chanting a prayer that this intense agonizing searing pain would pass...

But it wasn't going away. Scrambling to my feet, I bolted towards the sink and poured myself a glass of water. I started drowning one after the other and as I reached for another glass, the tap water turned red.

Stumbling back, I gripped the kitchen table.

"De-erek," I stammered. "Derek, are you playing mind games with me?"

But how could he be? When he was only human?

I would slap my forehead for suggesting such a stupid thing but because my forehead is on fire, I won't.

WHOOSH!

Suddenly, I felt white light surround my body as I began fading.

"What is this?" I whispered, terrified, as my hands were barely visible. "What's happening to me?" Am I dying? But...but angels are immortal...
