Dark Cloud

There's a dark cloud
that follows me around
floating above my head,
pouring rain and thunder
until I'm flooded under
any time I am not in bed.

It casts a shadow on all I see
like a haunting banshee
wailing in tormented dread,
sending shivers and shouts
while ever hidden in shroud
whenever I do not lay in bed.

So come and stay instead
so I can bring some sunshine
into my life for a while.

With you here, leave me blessed
to feel your body next to mine
and revived, be gratified.

And when all areas are tread
and basked in bright light,
you can take your flight.

I'll stay here in my bed
biding my time until I rise
and look up at the skies
where shadows are spread,
pouring rain as dark clouds
again follow me around.
