You accepted me then
ten inches tall
and barely a person
I couldn't fend for myself
I couldn't even see for a while
and yet
you accepted me then
when you met me
before you knew a thing
about me or who I am
about who I would become some day
and yet
you accepted me then
kept me close by
and pressed kisses on me
knowing only family
knowing nothing of my maladies
and yet
you accepted me thenSo accept me now.
