Greetings friends!

I know I've done this trope before but I just can't help but abuse it.

Trying to keep the tension from the last oneshot and add some more light hearted fun for this one.

I'll stop yapping and start yapping. Based on the edge during rtte.

The gang were walking back to their huts from the waterhole. It was a burning hot day and they had been working so hard after a recent invasion. An invasion that just about totaled Hiccups hut, so he had been staying at Fishlegs' hut while they began rebuilding.

"That was such a good way to end the day!" Fishlegs exclaimed, drying his hair with a towel.

"Yeah it was in-credible!" Tuff replied.

"Hey! Stop it!" Hiccup and Astrid were at the back of the gang, trying to trip each other and push the other over.

Fishlegs rolled his eyes. Tuff leaned in to him, "I believe that your friend is lying to you." Tuffnut commented.

"No, I know." He chuckled.

"You've know about Hiccups crippling illness this whole time?" He stage whispered.

Before Fishlegs could reply, Hiccup nudged him in the side, "Hey, I'm gonna grab some lunch with Astrid, I'll meet you back at your hut later, okay?" He commented. Before Fishlegs could answer him either, Hiccup and Astrid had peeled off from the rest of the group.

The two sat opposite each other, with filling sandwiches infront of them. "I might have to keep you around." Astrid commented, taking another bite. Hiccup looked up with a questioning look on his face. "You are a way better chef than I am!" She chuckled.

"What, am I your maid now?" He joked. She playfully kicked him under the table.

They finished up their lunches and Hiccup took their plates. "Could I use your shower? The salt from the water hole is really starting to irritate my 'foot'?" He asked with quotations around the word foot, gesturing to his metal leg.

"Go for it, I'll finish cleaning up lunch." She replied. Astrid began reordering her dining room, trying to fill in time while Hiccup showered. She heard the bathroom door open and a shirtless Hiccup exited.

"Hey, I don't want to be weird, but could you check a scratch I got on my back, please? I can't really see it." Astrid's eyes quickly scanned his upper body in awe. "Astrid?"

"Oh! Yeah of course!" She snapped herself back to reality. She walked up to him and he turned around to reveal a half healed, ten-centimeter gash on his right shoulder blade. "Hiccup! You said a scratch?" He turned around to face her.

"Is it bad?" He tried to look over his shoulder.

"Yes, Hiccup. It's bad." She replied with wide eyes. "Wait here." Astrid grabbed a jar out of the cupboard and placed it on the counter. "Turn around." She scooped a blob of the ointment out of the jar and onto his scar. She hesitated, feeling his muscles tense under her fingers. "That'll teach you to not make stupid decisions." She joked. He turned around to face her, but he didn't step back.  "What did you even do?" She asked.

"Nothing." A cheeky smile forced its way onto his face.

"So you just woke up with a huge gash on your back?" She prodded.

"Would you believe me if I said yes?" She could feel his breath on her face. She gently shook her head, lifting her chin. "I may, or may not, have been trying to copy that skill that you and Stormfly showed up last week." He bit his bottom lip.

Astrid's eyes widened. "You! Are such a fan!" She pressed her pointer into his chest. His eyes caught hers and she flattened her hand against him, reading all of the signals he was sending her with his eyes. Her skin prickled as his hands gently slid around her waist. "Do you know what the others would say if they walked in right now?" She pressed, not pulling away.

"Mmm, I think I could imagine." He replied, closing the space between them. "But, I don't think I care." She placed a gentle kiss on her lips. She smiled, unable to look away from his face. "Do you care?" He asked gently.

Astrid bit her bottom lip in thought. "No, I don't think I do."
