Authors note is at the end to avoid spoilers. Trying to shake it up a bit.

Astrids 'POV'
"I've been gone for three days!" Astrids flailed her hands around. "How have you injured yourself?" She wiped her hands over her face in defeat. A slight smirk tugged at her lips but she suppressed it. She knew exactly who she married, she wasn't shocked.
Hiccup sat, shirtless, at the kitchen bench. A white bandage wrapped around his chest and over his left shoulder. Freckles of blood seeped through over his heart. Astrid straddled the bench, facing him, he turned to face her. "You need to be more careful, Hiccup." She gently placed her hand on his chest.
"I need to admit something, Astrid."

Hiccups 'POV'
"She's gonna hate you when she finds out." Gobber warned, opening a door at the back of the forge, gesturing for Hiccup to enter.
"I'm the cheif! I'll order her to not be mad at me." Hiccup pounded his fist on his chest as he used to do when mocking his fathers speech.
"When has she ever responded well to you tellin' her what to do?" Gobber raised an eyebrow.
Hiccup slumped onto the wooden bed behind him in defeat. "She's my wife. I'll beg her to not be and pray to the gods?" He smiled a lopsided smile.
"Eh, that's more like it." Gobber turned to organize his things on a desk.
Hiccup peeled his shirt off and laid down on his back. Gobber hovered over the young cheif, his eyes focused on his chest. Eventually he pulled out a charcoal pencil and sketched an idea over Hiccups heart. He held a reflective pan over him to show Hiccup his drawing. An instinctive smile spread across Hiccups face, not matter how much he tried to suppress it. He nodded in confirmation before resting his head back, looking up at the roof. He squeezed his eyes shut as Gobber needle made contact with his skin. Hiccup bit his bottom lip.
"All done!" Gobber stood back and admired his work.
"Already?" Hiccups eyes widened in relief. He started to sit up when Gobber pushed him back down.
"All done with the first part." He corrected. "Probably shouldn't've left such a big gap. He chuckled to himself before continuing with his work. Tears welled in Hiccups eyes, but he forced them back with deep breaths. After minutes that felt like hours, Go bet took a step back and smiled. "Ok, now, we're all done." He grabbed the reflective pan and let Hiccup admire his art.
'ᚨᛊᛏᚱᛁᛞ' was permanently scribed onto his chest, over his heart. "It's perfect, Gobber." He stared in admiration for a few seconds longer while Gobber prepared the bandages.
"What story have you come up with for your lass?" Gobber asked as he wrapped Hiccups tattoo up.
"Ehh I'm not too sure." He ran his right hand through his hair. "Probably that I got shot by an arrow or something." He pressed his lips together in thought. "Something plausible but not something that's going to scare her too much." He shrugged.
"Well, May the gobs be with you, son." Gobber clapped him on the back. "No strenuous activities for you." He gave Hiccup a serious look. He knew better than most that Hiccup wasn't great at taking a rest.

The next two days passed slowly. The pain in his chest lessened as the hours passed. A nervous wave danced in his stomach but he suppressed it as best as he could. Would she hate it? He sat at the table in the dining room, his head resting on his hands. He lifted his head when he heard to door crack open.
"What happened, babe?" Astrid rushed over to him, a concerned hand on his back.
"Just an arrow, I'll be fine." He gave her a reassuring smile as she pressed a kiss onto his lips.
"I've been gone for three days! How have you injured yourself?" Now that she knew he was okay she could interrogate him. She sat down next to him and he turned to face her. "You need to be more careful, Hiccup." She sighed, placing a gentle hand over his 'wounded' chest.
Butterflies danced in Hiccups stomach. He took a deep breath. "I need to admit something, Astrid." He confessed. Her eyes widened with concern. "I didn't get hit with an arrow," He forced away his smile, silently praying to the gods that she would like this decision he had made without consulting her at all.
"Out with it, Hiccup!" She snapped him back to reality. He had wound himself so deep in thought he hadn't realized the whole minute he had left her on edge. Hiccup bit his cheek and started to unravel the bandages. Astrid leaned in in anticipation. Her eyes widened at the revelation. "Astrid." She breathed, running a thumb underneath her name that was now permanently carved into his skin. An uncontrollable smile pressed its way onto her face.
"Do you...like it?" He asked nervously. She responded by pressing a lingering kiss onto his lips.
"I love it." She whispered when they separated. "I love you." She kissed him again.
"I love you too, Milady."

A/N
I watched an interview that said it's cannon that they've got each others names tatted, Hiccups with her name on his chest and Astrid has his name in an unspecified location. I think it's her forearm for some reason. Where do you guys think she has his name?
Anyways that's it for today! Have a lovely day or night wherever you are in the world <3
