8. Yellow

"so you and Luke eh?" Aubrey asked as tonight we were having a girl's night in all in mine and Dels room.
After Luke asked me out the boys said their good byes and after that we were all giddy, I mean LUKE HEMMINGS asked me out on a date me?! Of course im giddy if one of the sexiest aussies asked me out, scratch that he's not quite Hugh Jackman yet.
But why would they be giddy? Did something happen?
"yeah, we're alright after all we are going on a date tomorrow night!!" I practically screamed, oh here comes the excitement again, "oh my god!!" they all screamed and pulled me in for a bear hug "well done Lottie!! You are in there mate!!" Chelsea smiled nudging my arm "yea I knowww i'm thrilled!!" I quite literally am I was going to tell my mum but it's only a summer fling... Is it?

"enough about me! Why are you guys all hyped up like the hyenas out of the lion king?" I said taking the limelight off me.
"well" Del began "when you and Luke were talking in the pool today and we were all still debating the boys were telling us that they were all in a band and well they are playing in 2 days here in Sydney in a private gig for exclusive 'fans' so they invited us along and then said they could give us a tour of Sydney!" "yea and they said we're getting pizza!! PIZZA ahhhh.." Chels cut in with drool already dangling from her tongue, "attractive Chels" I noted which made us giggle. "But guys seriously I really like Ashton, he's perfect, he might be 4 years older than me but I've really made a connection with him." Aubreys really been thinking about him hasn't she? "Aubs age is only a number and if you two have fallen for eachother I suggest you go for it!!" I suggested "yea reach for the stars!!" Del agreed until Chels broke into song "Ain't no mountain high enough ain't no river low enough" and at that point we all we're singing 'ain't no mountain high enough' and giggling while eating Ben n Jerrys ice cream. "What would I do without you guys?" Aubrey giggled as we were finishing our ice cream. Gosh I love these girls.

Okay it's 5pm and I've been rushing around the room like a headless chicken, "for fucks sake why didn't I pack anything decent?!!" I shouted as frustration was taking over "Because you didn't know you were meeting anyone... Decent" Del shouted back trying to joke but I was I no mood.
"okay im gonna rummage through yours, Aubreys and Chelseas suitcases until I find something interesting that isn't for the sun or for the pool" "K but shut up im trying to watch Bondi Vet or something he's really good looking and his thick Australian accent really shines through" wow. Great friend not helping me get ready for a date.
Anyway I decided on going for my own wardrobe as I dug out a black netted crop top and a knee length tube skirt that hugged my figure. I decided to pin my hair up with some grips and clips (hah made it rhyme) and then applied some makeup to clear up my skin with mascara, winged eyeliner and red lipstick. To complete my look I brought my strappy open-toed black heels.

6:50, another ten minutes so I decided to scroll through my Twitter when a page I liked came up with a headline '5SOS BOYS HEAD TO THE POOL WITH MYSTERY GIRLS'  I was intrigued by these boys so I clicked on the link only to be greeted by Ash, Cal, mikey and Luke? Is this a wind up? Luke would've told me their band was 5 seconds of summer? Wouldn't he? He'll tell me, im not gonna push him but I will 'nicely' ask him.
*knock* *knock* *knock*
Here he is, okay forget all that now Lottie be tactful, have a good time and don't over think everything.
"Lottie Lukey pukeys here for your little date" Del teased.
"coming Del bear" I shouted back.
I opened the door and sure enough here he was Luke Hemmings holding a rose and a little teddy bear "I didnt want to be too cliché but I got you thes-" he said before looking at me rather than the ground "wow you look... Wow" he said with his mouth hung open a little bit "thank you" I blushed "you don't look too bad yourself" he then extended his arm for me to link and we were off.

"oh I don't have a car since the restaurant is only a 15 minute walk" he said waiting for my response, "oh no it's fine! As you can probably tell im a fitness freak so this is a breeze" I joked knowing the only running I'll be doing is to my phone, to call Dominos. "you're not quite Ashton yet Lottie" Luke joked along, "well a girl can dream lucas, a girl can dream" Luke was semi casual tonight wearing his usual black jeans, a white shirt and a leather jacket. His hair was perfectly quiffed and his usual lip ring. He was perfect.

We entered a little Italian diner 15 minutes away from my hotel which I was happy about since im not the best at exercise but walking with Luke distracted me from walking in heels.
But it was a cute restaurant non the less.
"sooo Luke..." I began with my investigation of '5 seconds of summer'.
"yaaaasss Lottie" "well do you know your band? Are they quite successful? May I ask?" "oh my band.. Yea we're alright, we've been together since 2011 and we do have fans, of which you'll meet on Wednesday and yea I guess" he chuckled skimming through the menu, "oh-"
"hi guys, im Porter your waiter tonight can I get you any drinks?" Porter asked with a smile, "Yea I would like a coke please and?" Luke gestured "Another coke please Porter" I smiled, "no problem I'll be back in a bit to get your food order" and porter was gone leaving me to my investigation.
"And your bands name? Because I might have heard of you guys" I pressed on.
"erm our bands name is... Erm" Luke choked out whilst looking at the walls for his imaginary band he will make up, "The Cloths" he laughed nervously "oh really? Very catchy Luke Hemmings, lead guitarist for 5 Seconds of Summer" I smirked "oh shit." he nervously laughed again "Im sorry Lottie I just didn't want to ruin things if you found out that me and the lads are in a band trying to hit it big I hope you're not going to like ditch me.." he trailed one "Luke it's fine I understand for all you know I could be a crazed fan who wants a lock of Luke Hemmings' hair for eBay" I joked earning a laugh from Luke "or that too but you did say we had potential" Luke smirked "but now I've learnt who are in that band now" Luke put on a sarcastic surprised face "well it looks like I'll be ditching you tonight Lottie" I chuckled at the thought "well then" I laughed.
We laughed all night and Luke was being adorable just being him and not someone for the cameras (which im sure he doesn't do) but he was more relaxed than usual which made me smile.

We left the restaurant and it was only 10pm so Luke took me on a late night walk on the beach, "it's so beautiful," I said admiring the night sky over looking the ocean, whilst Luke was staring at me with his big blue puppy dog eyes "yea but tonight something else has caught my eye" he said soothingly "oh yea?" "yea, you. You're just perfect and you were when I hit you with my football 2 days ago," I blushed at the thought of Luke admiring me, I mean ME of all people im not pretty like Aubrey or funny like Chels or witty and cute like Del I'm just me and I finally found someone to potentially love me for me. "thank you Luke but I'm far from perfect I mean look at yourself you can play the guitar, rock womens skinny jeans, you have those big blue eyes that butter wouldn't melt over and you are so lovely and I think you've stolen my heart" I shyly spoke as I forced my gaze to the sand beneath my feet. I then felt Luke's finger pick my head up as I stared into his blue orbs "Listen to me Lottie you may not be perfect in your eyes but in mine you are perfect and everything more so don't doubt yourself and you've had me in a trance since I saw you staring out to sea 2 days ago so I knew I had to make a move and im so glad I did" as he said that I smiled so much my face cramped up for a second there.
Then the unexpected happened Luke put his hands on my face and kissed me with his soft lips and his cool lip ring, it was perfect, my first kiss was perfect.
I broke away speechless "wow Luke" I immediately hugged him as a thank you but also as a way of saying keep me here "hey do you wanna sit down for a while and cuddle maybe? I mean you don't have to" Luke whispered in my ear "shh Luke I'd love that" I whispered back not holding my smile back.
Luke let me go and put his jacket around my shoulders and walked to the edge of the beach with me, hand in hand and we sat there together keeping eachother warm in eachothers embrace with tonight replaying in my head with the song 'yellow' by Coldplay playing in the background whilst the comfortable silence took over.
"Luke" I whispered to the 18 year old wrapped around my body
"yes" he smiled looking down at me.
"thank you for kicking a ball at me" he quietly laughed revealing a beautiful white smile.
"it's okay I needed to get your attention one way or another" he chuckled humming im my ear.
Yep this boy is a goofball. But I couldn't be happier..
