24. Addicted to you

Lottie's POV
Peeling Mike off the bed was definitely the hardest task of the morning but I did it! He's currently speaking to the boys downstairs whilst I'm getting changed, because we're only moving all our stuff onto the bus this morning and then setting off tonight. I'm not gonna bother with any makeup. But I do put my hair in a messy bun with a pair of leggings and an oversized maroon jumper with a pair of black Vans.

After that I go and join the lads at the breakfast table "Good morning Lottie" Ash smiles sipping his coffee "morning Ashton" I smile as mike puts an arm around my waist, kissing my head gently "mornin babe" he squeaks as I die inside "morning" I smile kissing his cheek going to get some coco pops "how's everyone feeling?" Ash asks sitting down at the island in the middle of the kitchen "great!" I chirp putting milk over my cereal. "Great.." luke mumbles under his breath but the thing is I really couldn't give a shit about his opinion so he can just suck my good mood like a sponge. I just smile at him whilst crunching my coco pops "everyone excited for today?" I chirp lightening the tone "I guess" cal smiles as I look in his direction "well that sounded enthusiastic, come on guys this is exciting!" I smile widely as they all smirk at me holding in laughter at how excited I am (even luke) "we've done this before Lottie" Ash giggles "I haven't! Come on guys I'm so thrilled" I squeal waving my spoon about smiling immensely.

Now that breakfast is over everyone's packing the last items into their cases "I wonder if the food's different in every state?" I question to myself as I put in the last two pairs of pyjama bottoms into my case and of course in true Lottie fashion my case has gone over its limit and the case won't zip up "shit" I whisper jumping on top of my case trying to fit it all in "come on come on.." I sigh trying to zip it up.
"Do you need some help there?" Luke asks hesitantly "um yes please" I nervously laugh as this is the first time he's been pleasant to me in such a long time. "Thanks" I mumble as he sits on top of my case trying to zip it up "it's okay" he smiles as I nod "so um Lottie I'm sorry about my behaviour" luke shyly says like a naughty child apologising to their mum. "Oh right well thanks I guess" I say shrugging it off "aren't you going to sound more genuine?" He questions looking rather confused as I mirror it "I am being genuine" I retort folding my arms "it doesn't sound like it.." he mumbles as I roll my eyes "I am, just because I'm not your biggest fan at the moment doesn't mean we can't be civil" I retort zipping up my case all the way "oh right. Well let's be civil then." He huffs immediately storming out the room before I could speak "his loss.." I whisper carrying my case out of the room.

"Well because you're part of the crew you should be on the second bus but because you're my girlfriend, you get the bunk opposite mine" mike smiles as I look at my bunk happily "oh thank you Mikey" I smile pecking his lips and putting my phone and charger in my bunk "so who will have the bunk behind mine?" I ask looking at the bunks below mine and mikes and those behind them "below you is Ash, opposite him is cal and behind you is erm luke" mike nervously laughs as luke pushes his way through to put his things behind me "hi" is all he says before climbing into his bunk trying to listen to our conversation, I'm not going to give him the satisfaction "it's fine, he can't upset me" I smile widely as the rest of the band and important crew come to claim their bunks "okay good" mike smiles kissing me "ew PDA!!" Ash playfully laughs as I slap his arm "whatever Irwin" I giggle.

After packing up the van we all descent into the van only to travel a small distance to the first arena in LA.

As we were already in LA it only took us twenty minutes to get to the arena but it's still really exciting! After getting off the bus I was greeted by Rob the tour manager who told me my jobs before the concert begins tonight.
"We have to go practice now so I'll see you later love" mike smiles as he pecks me on the lips "see you in a bit" I hum smiling as he walks away.

Now what first as I look at all the things Rob set me, he seems alright so hopefully he hasn't set me some crazy tasks to do.
1) check the amps are working properly
2) make sure sound systems are wired correctly
3) check to see if the lads ear pieces are working
4) tune the instruments

After completing the first tasks the boys come on stage to practice their set, which I have to say is brilliant! Before they start singing I test each one of their ear pieces for the guys behind the sound so the background rhythms of their songs will go into their earpieces "hi mike" I say into my microphone as I see him smile on stage "oh hey didn't expect to be hearing you" he giggles as I laugh "I'm guessing that your earpiece works then love" I smile as he laughs "nope kshh it's kshh breaking ksshhh up" he says making stupid noises with his mouth. "Oh yea definitely" I smile rolling my eyes turning off the communication between my microphone and his ear piece.

After having short conversations with each lad it's finally to do Luke's "hey" I shyly speak looking at him as his head pricks up from his guitar "oh hi" he speaks dimly "so is your ear piece working correctly?" I ask professionally feeling more and more uncomfortable. "Yea thank you" he smiles as I blush a bit, what am I doing? "Okay good see you later luke" I smile turning the my communications off with him and put my headphones in listening to Lana Del Rey going to complete my last job.

As the boys were using the electric guitars I only had to tune the acoustic guitars and Ashs drum kit after he came off stage. Which suited me since this is my last job of the night.
Since I used to play a bit of guitar after tuning them I grabbed one to 'test' it for later. Or in other words just to kill some time.
I sit down to position the guitar so I'm comfortable I start to strum it and to be honest it feels so good to be playing properly again. After going to Oz and meeting luke I wanted to practice guitar even more so if I did meet him again I'd know what to say, or in this case sing.
I tried looking up like love songs and stuff online but none of them really fit my emotions. Most of them were so cringe I thought they were too emotional and at that moment in time I missed him but I definitely wouldn't have died for him like titanic or something. But then I stumbled up Addicted to you by Avicii and the lyrics really felt true to the situation and now that I think about it they fit in with mine and mikeys relationship but I don't think ours is as special as luke was my first love and you only ever have one first love.

As I begin to play the gentle chords to slow down the song it brings back so many memories I tried to put to the back of my mind for the past 3 years and all the cruel torment of not being good enough for years has flooded back into my veins.

I sigh the last breath and put the guitar on the floor thinking of how good it felt to let all those emotions out at last. My only regret is luke not being here to hear how much pain he put me through. I know every girl has been through heartbreak and every girl says there was that one who got away but I think I was the one who got away from luke and that's why he's so bitter because he knows he screwed up, his pride just can't take it.
