Shout out to the awesome David Ramsey, who I got to meet and talk to at Louisville comic con. Awesome experience! Hope you guys are enjoying the story so far.
Oliver's POV
Just as I think the whole night can go perfectly we run into my mother.
"Oliver? What is she doing here?"
"She is an employee, is she not?"
"I suppose so, but what is she doing with you?"
"Um, 'she' has a name. I'm Felicity and Oliver asked me to be his date. Thank you Moira once again for demonstrating the wonderful manners of a Queen." I look at my beautiful blonde in shock. My mother glares at her for a moment before walking away.
"Why are you looking at my like that?"
"Pride." I smile widely, knowing Felicity is one of the very few people to ever stand up to Moira Queen.
"Shall we go?"
"Sure." As we near the entrance I see Thea and her friend making out. I clear my throat and they both look at us.
"Ollie!"
"I'm just wanted to say goodnight. Diggle will be back for you later."
"We can go now, I mean it's Christmas. Don't want to spend it with a bunch of business stiffs."
"Alright." The four of us walk out of the building where Diggle waits with the car. In the car, Felicity lays her head on my shoulder. When we make it back to the mansion, it's amazing to see all the Christmas lights all over. It begins to snow softly as we walk inside.
"Merry Christmas Oliver."
"I thought you were Jewish?"
"You're not." She grabs my collar and pulls my lips to hers. We break apart and she walks into the sitting room. Even though my mother and I don't get along, we have spent every Christmas together no matter what. I go up to my old room and change into a t-shirt and sweatpants. I make it back downstairs and see Felicity talking with Thea.
"You better get some sleep while you can."
"Relax Ollie. Mom won't be back for hours. She always takes her time with those parties."
"It's still Christmas."
"And Hannakah. Speaking of which, I better go call my mom."
"Alright." She leaves the room pulling out her cellphone.
"So are you two good now?"
"Ya, we are."
"You really do love her, don't you?"
"I do."
"Don't mess up again Ollie, a girl only gives you so many chances before she finally gives up."
"I could never hurt her like that again."
"Alright. I'm gonna get some sleep. Be good."
"I will. Now get some sleep."
"Night." She pecks me on the cheek before heading upstairs for a while. I sit on the couch for a few minutes before Felicity comes back in.
"Sorry that took so long. I haven't talked to my mom in a while..." She sits next to me, laying her head on my shoulder.
"Why not?"
"My mom and I... We were never that close. Between working and working, I never really got the mother daughter experience. Then there was the fact that my dad left when I was six... and it hurts, I never really knew why. Then I started collage, got in to trouble and we pretty much catch up where you found me."
"I'm sorry..."
"Don't be, now we have each other." Our lips meet for a moment. I can see the change in her, the light that has grown in her since we met. She's changed, better than that dark person she never really was.
