Link's P.O.V

As Zelda sauntered away from view; Mido and Ronin decided to pick up the bickering once more. "That was just a lucky shot!" Ronin exclaimed as he shoved Mido. "Enough!" I snapped. Suddenly all the recruits became silent. "Sorry Link." Ronin apologized. I sighed impatiently as I rubbed my face.  "Find a partner and spar for the rest of training. Once you're done return to your quarters. If you need me I will be inside the armory." I stated. After that I left the group to fend for themselves in hopes they wouldn't fight amongst themselves. I wandered to the armory and approached my chest. Inside the armory I had a designated chest with all of my handy tools and weapons of choice. I opened the chest and dug inside. I pushed aside my shield and bow and pulled out a sack. Inside were the masks I found inside the temple within the Lost Woods. The Resurrection Mask and the Fierce Deity Mask were perfectly fine and still in one piece. After speaking with Ronin's grandfather and learning about the history of these artifacts I became obligated to make sure these masks don't fall into the wrong hands. So I locked them up with the rest of my magical articles and weapons. Zelda had her suspicions about being brought back to life but I had my ways of distracting her. She could't find out about the masks. Zelda would know their danger and get rid of them. I couldn't let them happen. Especially if she decided to sacrifice herself again, which I knew she would. But thats just who Zelda was. She was selfless and loved everyone around her. "Captain?" A voice called. I turned to see it was Mido.  I quickly shut the chest and panicked. "What is it?" I snapped. "We're all done with sparring. We are going to head back to our quarters now." Mido shyly stated. He seemed shocked by my attitude and almost slightly saddened by it. "I'm sorry Mido, I didn't mean to snap at you. There's just been so much stress with this new position." I sighed. Mido's visage softened as he placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "Its okay. See you tomorrow Captain." Mido beamed as he turned and left. I watched the recruits leave and then packed up my stuff. I had grabbed some food and made my way to Zelda's balcony. The night had already grown dark and most of the inhabits of the castle had gone to sleep.  Her doors on the balcony were slightly ajar as the curtains blew in the soft wind. "Zelda!" I called. She suddenly appeared in the doorway. "Shhh! Do you want to wake up the entire kingdom?!" She exclaimed. Zelda seemed frazzled. She always did after a long day of being Queen. I shook my head at her and grabbed onto the vines that clung to the castle wall and led to her balcony. Once I made it to the top I swung my legs over the banister and leaned against the structure. Zelda stood in the door way even more visible then she was below. She was dressed in a violet nightgown with her hair out of its braids. She was so natural and beautiful. I quickly went to her and wrapped my arms around her. I kissed her with as much love as I could muster until she pushed me away. "What's wrong?" I questioned. Suddenly I became worried. "You're kissing me outside! What if someone sees?" She cried. "Then they'll be jealous." I teased as I kissed her neck. "Just come inside will ya?" Zelda laughed as she pulled me into her room. Zelda's room was neat and nicely kept.  "How was your day?" I asked her. She sighed and groaned. "It was long and awful." Zelda commented as she threw herself on her bed in frustration. "That bad huh?" I chuckled as I sat beside her on the bed. "You have no idea." She stated into the pillow so it was muffled. I gently played with her hair and pulled it behind her ears as she laid down on her side. "Tell me about it." I suggested. "I don't think you want to hear about it." She chuckled. "Try me." I sighed as I curled up behind her. "If you're gonna lie on my bed you better take off your boots." Zelda scolded. I groaned and sat up. I kicked off my shoes and unclipped my sword holster. Both found their way to the floor. I returned next to her to see she was deep in thought. "What's the matter Zellie?" I questioned. She quickly snapped out of it and turned on her back to look up at me. "Nothing." She clearly lied. "You're not lying to me are you?" I inquired. Zelda avoided eye contact and rolled back over on her stomach. "Zelda?" I called. She ignore me and buried her face in the pillow. "Talk to me please." I sighed. My patience was thinning and the last time she acted like this she got herself killed. Zelda remained silent. I suddenly stood up which instantly got her attention. "Where are you going?" She asked. "To my room. You're not talking to me and the last time you did that-"I started but she quickly cut me off. "Please don't leave...Just lie with me please." Zelda practically cried. I could see that she was in distress but she did not seem ready to talk to me just yet. I'm glad she could still find comfort in me though. I curled up behind her in bed and wrapped my arms around her from behind. We sat like that in silence until she fell asleep. I enjoyed moments like this with Zelda. Before we were friends, now we were so much more. It wasn't too long before I too fell asleep and let my dreams take me.
