Link's P.O.V
It had been a few weeks since the wedding. Zelda and I couldn't be happier. Zelda's pregnancy was moving along swimmingly. The baby was perfectly healthy, and so was the mother thankfully. Unfortunately there was a lot on both of our plates for Zelda and I were officially the King and Queen of Hyrule now. The men had returned to Termina with supplies and healers from our land but when the arrived King Daltus was not to happy. Weeks after our wedding we received word that King Daltus had been overthrown and Termina now looked to Hyrule for guidance. "What are we going to do Link?" Zelda asked as she let out a big sigh. We were currently in the throne room over looking various scrolls and books. "We can continue to send supplies for now. But we need to find a solution for Termina's failing crops and infertile soil." I explained. "We could let them come here." Zelda suggested. "You and I both know that won't go over well with the people of Hyrule. Everyone is very protective of their land and their own space. I mean could you imagine if citizens from Termina try to move in with the Gorons?" I explained. "You're right. I just feel responsible for Termina's survival. We've looked through ever text, scroll, or any sort of record of Hyrule's History to find something to help these people." Zelda stated with frustration. "Hey try not to exert yourself dear, think of the baby." I reminded her. Zelda only rolled her eyes at me in response. "Why don't you get some rest? We've been at this for hours." I suggested. "No we need to find a solution." Zelda stated firmly. "Zelda go get some rest. I will remain here and continue to search for a solution. I will join you later." I explained. "Fine." Zelda sighed as she stood from her seat and walked over to me. "Goodnight Link." She whispered as she kissed my cheek and left the throne room. I continued to look over the text for a few more hours and found nothing. "This is taking forever!" I groaned as I tossed the text causing all of the other papers to fall to the floor creating a mess. "Just great." I sighed as I knelt down to begin to pick up the pieces of paper. As I began to pick them up I came across an illustration. It was a piece from the text of Hyrule's History. I looked over the image carefully. Something caught my eye as I studied it. The illustration was of a great tree surrounded by lush greenery. The tree had a face and appeared to be alive. Fairies circled it and in the center of the page I saw a child dressed in green. He looked similar to me. Suddenly I rushed to the text on the table. Quickly I flipped through the pages to discover where the illustration had come from. My ancestor was once a child of the forest. He was originally known as the Hero of Time. He went on many adventures between different timelines to insure the safety of both Hyrule and Princess Zelda. Images of the Ocarina of Time appeared within the text as I continued to read until I came across information on the tree. "The Great Deku Tree." I read outlaid from the text. "The life force of the forest." I continued. "It's seedlings have the ability to withstand most exposures. It can survive in any type of terrain, but most be tended for until it reaches maturity. Once it achieves its roots it can nourish the soil and create a fertile surface." I read. I finally found a way to help the people of Termina. I sighed in relief as I bookmarked the page and made my way to bed. When I entered the room Zelda was sitting on the bed brushing her hair. "Cant sleep?" I inquired. "Not a wink." She groaned as she set the hair brush down. "Did you find anything?" Zelda asked. "I did." I answered as I handed her the text. She quickly looked over it and then looked at me excitingly. "Link this is just what we needed!" She exclaimed. "It didn't state where we can find it though." I stated. "It has to be in the Lost Woods. Its the only type of woodland area with such mystic properties." Zelda explained. "You're right. First thing in the morning I'll go to the Lost Woods and find Skull Kid he should help me find it." I stated. "I'll come with you." Zelda offered. "No, no, no you're gonna stay right here in the castle. You've got more than one life to take care of now." I stated as I gestured to her swollen belly. "I'm pregnant not incompetent!" She exclaimed. "I know that darling but please just trust me on this. I need you to stay here. Who knows what could in happen during my search for the selling, there might be moblins or worse fairies!" I joking exasperated. Zelda giggled in response. "Don't let Navi hear you talk like that she'll make you eat those words." Zelda warned. "Oh relax that fairy might have a mouth of her but she's harmless." I sighed as I cuddled into bed with Zelda. "Goodnight my love." I whispered. "Goodnight Link." She responded. "And goodnight Ronin." I quickly added as I kissed Zelda's stomach. She smiled and then kissed me. "I love you." She stated before lying down and falling asleep.
