Its currently 4:00 am, and the yelling won't stop. They are mad at each other again, for some reason unknown. Quickly I changed into my uniform trying to escape the path of disaster before I got swept into it. It's never good for me when they drag me into it. Not enough time for my razor to comfort me right now. Even though they have all the money they could ever want or need they can't seem to be happy anymore.
If I'm up this early, might as well visit his shrine. His parents are just going to have to live with me for five minutes. They never liked me after he died. I walked down his street, too caught up in my thoughts, and ran into someone. Haruhi Fujioka, I forgot she lived in the same complex as him.
"Ah, hi Ash." She looked like she was having a great day so far, so many smiles, so optimistic, so...scary.
Plastering a smile on my face, as always, I answered, "Hello Haruhi, how are you today?"
"I'm good, do you live over here?" she asks, totally oblivious to my facade.
"No, I don't. Just visiting someone before school."
"Oh, well do you wanna go with me? I can wait for you to finish."
"Sure, just give me a few minutes." I turned my back and walked up to his house. Rapping my knuckles gently on the door I waited for his parents to answer.
"Coming!" A gentle voice called from the other side of the oak door. The door creaked open and I came face to face with Mrs. Hashimoto. I smiled at her, for once, in a long while my smile was genuine, though she didn't know that. Looking me in the eyes, the smile she had on her face faded.
"Mrs. Hashimoto..." I started, It was hard to find the words to say, after all it was all my fault he died.
"Why are you here?" I could hear the disgust in her voice...nothing new.
"I wanted to visit him. I haven't paid my respects in a while." It was true, it has been six months since I last came by. She looked at my eyes, the once blood red color had been switched to blue. She sighed sadly, and opened the door to let me in.
"Thank you. I will be just a moment," Turning my back I walked to his shrine. I didn't notice that Mrs. Hashimoto had followed me and watched everything I did and said to him. I clapped my hands twice and bowed.
"I'm sorry I haven't visited in a while, I just couldn't face you again. Look, I'm making your wish come true. I even joined a host club for you." I could feel my eyes start to blur up, that hasn't happened in a while. "I made a promise to you, so I'll keep it. But Ash...Wait for me by the gate...I'll be there soon." I couldn't keep my tears in any longer. He was my everything, and I'm living the life he should have had. I took my wallet out of my bag, grabbing a picture of him. I put a teary kiss on the picture and got up. Wiping my tears I walked to the door, Mrs. Hashimoto came up to it as I was about to leave. I turned to look at her before I left.
"Here, I want you to have this. It was taken the day before he died, I just ca-," my voice cracked. "I just can't hold on to this...It was his anyway." I handed her the photo, and bowed before taking my leave. Walking up to Haruhi we left for Ouran.
I love you Ash Hashimoto.
