Exiting the hospital in a wheelchair is not as fun as one might think. Haruhi was currently pushing me, with Ranka...Her dad...beside us. Now don't get me wrong, I have nothing against cross dressers, since I myself was one but this guy is like a Tamaki; nobody wants a Tamaki. Sighing I leaned back farther into the wheelchair, Why couldn't they have just let me die? Aparently, I was to go 'home', rest, then they'd get my things tomorrow.
Arriving at the building, I watched as Akira stepped out of her apartment. She noticed me, and my wheelchair bound self, and tears welled up in her eyes. I had forgotten, she had found me too. She ran up to me, with her arms open. Mr. Hashimoto at that moment came out of the apartment and saw me. Regret washed through his eyes, and something else I couldn't see because Akira had hugged me.
"Aspen, sweetie, I'm so sorry." She cried into my shoulder. "I didn't know. That night...That horrible night. Something like that happened." A warmth bubbled into my stomach at hearing her kindness. I didn't like it.
"Yeah, well, shit happens." I brushed off her crying coldly. It had shocked her, I had never been this cold to her, but for some reason, my warmth was gone.
"Sweetie...Aspen..Look at me." She pulled back and looked at my face. My gaze raised to hers, and she gasped. Before, when I thought I hadn't any light left in my eyes, I was wrong. I still had hope that my parents would want me. Though now, with the hope gone, I looked like a dead woman. I looked the same as when I was half dead. "Baby, I'm here for you. Me and Hiro love you very much." She tried to reassure me.
"It's funny. Where was that when I needed love the most." I looked at her, while removing her hands from my shoulders. I knew Haruhi wouldn't let me walk away with that so I grabbed the wheels and moved myself. "Lets go." I spoke without turning back. Haruhi was slightly remorseful, she had seen how Apsen smiled when she saw Akira before the accident. That smile was a real one, she knew it.
Catching up with Aspen, she grabbed ahold of the handles and pushed until they reached the stairs. Stopping at the bottom, Ranka squatted in front of Aspen. Ranka would have to carry her up the stairs since there was no Wheelchair ramp. Haruhi assistant Aspen on to his back and walked closely behind, making sure they were safe. When they reached the top, Haruhi ran back down and retrieved the wheelchair. The house looked a lot like Ash's; they even had a shrine. Haruhi lead Aspen to their room, a bed was laid out for her, though she was sure it was Haruhi's.
"Here you can sleep here, and you can wear these." Haruhi pulled out some of her pajamas. "You need to rest, doctor's orders, and then we will go to your house and get your things." Haruhi smiled, helping Aspen into the pajamas and the bed. Haruhi bowed and left the room, as Aspen rolled onto her side. She wasn't going to sleep any time soon.
