A car crash that took place in Quezon City who involved Makesi Ricalde and Maverick Lim ended up in injuries. And for Makesi— she got a head injury, which sent her into brain trauma which led to amnesia.
They were both rushed to the hospital as they were both unconscious when they got hit. Blood rushing from the side of their head.
When Mavi woke up, she was wrapped in a head bandage, her head feeling light. Waking up in an unfamiliar environment.
She started to get up, searching the room wherever Makesi is. She stopped on the 3rd curtain, looking over Makesi's sleeping figure, she watched as she slowly woke up.
She surged in inside Makesi's room, sitting on the edge of her bed as she said hi.
"Baby! Okay ka lang po?" Mavi asked, but Makesi was still drowsy from the anestesia.
"W-who are you..?" Makesi asked, lifting her head up, supporting the weight of her head.
"Ako po si Mavi, baby. 'Di mo po ba ako naalala?" Mavi asked, her voice soft, pouting as she did so.
"No, I don't. And if you may.. can you exit my room please? I'm not comfortable hanging with strangers." Makesi explained, trying to avoid Mavi's gaze. Mavi tried to be calm, be brave— but leaving Makesi's room shattered every piece inside her.
That was the love of her life on that bed, but to her— she's forgotten. Thrown in the depths of Makesi's mind that's long lost. And so, Mavi made it her mission to remind Makesi about her, about them.
She went back to her room and searched for her phone, and she clicked on an article featuring them.
She saw her girlfriend's and hers unconscious body being lifted in a stretcher to the emergency truck.
She looked back at Makesi's body who no longer recognized her as a lover. To her, she was just another stranger, as if they haven't had a history together.
2 weeks after the accident, Makesi returned back to work as usual, when Mavi started to follow her wherever she went.
She ordered Makesi's favorite drink from her favorite coffee shop and she gave it through Makesi's co-worker she knew— Aubrey Williams.
Aubrey met Mavi outside their complex, and Makesi saw them, and misunderstood it. "Sabi na eh, hindi talaga kita jowa eh." She said, which made Aubrey and Mavi shocked. They were completely shocked, because they hadn't realize Makesi was behind them.
"No, Makesi, wait!" Mavi said, running after her, but she was already up the elevator. Aubrey gave Mavi a look of pity, knowing how hard it was for her.
After their strange encounter, nakauwi si Mavi, defeated. The thought of surrendering, and accepting Makesi's amnesia for what it is lingered in her mind. Pero hindi talaga niya kayang kalimutan 'yung relasyon nila. Ipinalangin niyang ikakasal sila. Pano sila ikakasal 'kung hindi na siya kilala ni Makesi, 'di ba?
She tried and tried, trying everything to make Makesi remember her, remember them.
One day, she gave Makesi a box full of memories they both shared. Makesi's birthday, their date nights, going to Enchanted Kingdom, Makesi's younger sister—Maddie's graduation.
Makesi knew it was her and Mavi, but still, her mind refused to remember her. Her amnesia is the type to slowly remember things after a longer period.
"Gustong gusto kong maniwala, Maverick. Trust me. Pero hindi ko parin talaga maalala, I'm sorry.. 'Wag mo na 'kong antayin, masasaktan ka lang kakapilit sa'king maalala kung ano ang meron sa'ting dalawa." Makesi said, looking at Mavi's defeated face after several attempts.
"Hindi na kita pipilitin, Makesi. I wish you all the best. Pagod na 'kong ipaalala sa'yo lahat." Mavi replied, slowly tearing up. It was never her plan to give up, kasi hindi naman 'yon nagawa ni Makesi sakaniya no'ng sirang sira na siya.
After that, Mavi never called, staying true to her word. Wala na siyang ginawang pagpipilit of any kind. Pero within those days, onti onting naalala ni Makesi kung anong meron sakanila. Kung kailang huli na ang lahat.
She reached for her phone to text Mavi, to let her know she remembers everything now. But as she opened her socials, she saw Mavi and Aubrey together.

Makesi never expected anything like this. She never thought her bestfriend could do something like that to her. And so, that's when she decided to ring Mavi to come over.
After 30 minutes, Mavi arrived to her apartment with Aubrey, the younger clutching Aubrey's purse in her hand.
"Anong nangyari, Kesi?" Mavi asked, her expression concerned.
"Naalala ko na lahat, Mavi." Makesi replied, going into Mavi's arms. But Mavi didn't move a muscle as she stared at Aubrey.
"Makesi.." Mavi mumbled, her eyes shifting as she struggled to find the words to tell her.
"It was always you, Mavi." Makesi stated, but Mavi pulled away. "Mahal ko na si Aubrey, mak. I'm sorry." Mavi replied, trying so hard not to meet Makesi's eyes that just felt like everything shattered in her
Just like that, Makesi wished she got amnesia again to forget this tragedy.
