"I don't wanna learn another scent— i don't want the children of another man to have the eyes of the girl that i won't forget."

📌: Mack as a kindergarten teacher sees a young girl who look so much alike her ex that she could never forget.

Start:

"Okay kids, that's a wrap! Good bye, kids!" Mack says, waving goodbye to the kids.

"Good bye, teacher Mack!" They say in unison before going out to meet their parents.

But her eyes focused on one little kid. A young girl who had long dark hair, with fierce yet cute eyes.

Almost familiar. Couldn't quite get it.

Then a voice called out, "Amira, baby! Mommy's here!"

A familiar voice. "I know that voice.." she whispered under her breath, looking up to see the mother of the young girl.

Both caught in an eye contact. One that felt deep, as if there was many things unexplained from those late nights.

Estelle Vargas— Mack's ex who she can't forget.

Mack hurriedly looked away, trying to act like she was just arranging something on her table.

Estelle walks closer, her daughter in hand.

"Mackenzie." She uttered, silence filled the room. The pounding of her chest became loud and clear.

"E-estelle.." Mack stuttered, looking disheveled.

The girl Estelle was holding was the baby Estelle was pregnant with after she came home from working abroad.

"I'm glad you're my daughters teacher. She's in good hands, i know it." Estelle says in the tone she always used to tell she loved Mack.

"Mhm. I know." Mack says, barely audible.

"My wedding ceremony's in June. Hope you can make it." Estelle says, slipping an invitation with a wink.

Mack's eyes widens, thinking "Is she serious?"

Estelle walked out with her daughter after that, leaving Mack dumbfounded.

She sat down, clutching her purse. She can't accept reality, not yet.

"I don't wanna love if it's not you." She says, her eyes closing, her breath hitching.

She took out the invitation, taking a good look on it.

"I don't wanna hear the wedding bells prove that we can't try one last time." She said, tears in her eyes form.

You were once my world, my everything. But i cant bare see your child everyday bearing the same eyes of the girl i can't forget with another man.

Mack fell into a deep thought, realizations, a ton of what ifs ringing in her head.

The night of their breakup came to her. The pain of coming home to Estelle face palmed on their couch with a pregnancy test knowing damn well she was gone for a year.

Flashback~

"Baby, i'm home!" She called out, dragging her suitcase across their house that felt awfully quiet.

She expected to be greeted by Estelle who looked for her presence— longed for the touch of her wife.

Instead being greeted by Estelle face palmed in their couch, a pregnancy test in hand.
