— Two platonic bestfriends, except one fell.

"CARL! ASAWA KOO!" Avery exclaimed, running up to Carl in excitement.

"Hi, asawa 'kooo" Carl said, with open arms to hug her.

"Kamusta ka? Ang tagal nating hindi nagkita." Avery asked, sitting down on a bench with Carl.

"Okay lang. Nabusy ako sa thesis ko. Namiss kita, Avery. You know, kasama."
Carl said, and Avery listened intently.

"Ikaw ba, Ave? Kamusta?" Carl asked, his voice filled with concern.

"Okay lang ako. Also drowned in plates. Nagdududa na talaga ako sa pagiging architect ko, Carl." Avery said, sighing in exaggeration.

"Okay lang mapagod. Pangarap mo 'yan mula grade 6 tayo, oh. Ipagpatuloy mo 'yan, ha? Wag na wag susuko, asawa ko."
Carl said, wiping Carl's sweat of her forehead, which made Carl smile.

Carl has always had a thing for Avery, mula elementary nila. Pero kahit man, 'di sya naglakas loob aminin yung nararamdaman n'ya.

After 12 years ng pagnanais, she never got courage. She didn't want to ruin the friendship. It was too complicated for Carl to intake, so she figured, it was best to keep it platonic.

As Carl and Avery chilled outdoors, laid down on the make-shift picnic mat they've made, staring into the stars.

It was always Avery's eyes she saw in the stars, in the moon. The same circular, sparkling image from Avery's eyes that replicated the moon's.

Avery never noticed the way Carl glanced at her. How Carl gets so gentle, and caring when it comes to her. How Carl remembers everything she likes, and her routine.

Sabi nga ng friends ni Avery, sira ang 'love-dar' nya. The radar of indication whether a person likes her.

Sa lahat ng relationships ni Avery, Carl never interfered. She just listened to Avery's conflict with her men. Pero laging dagdag ni Carl, "Kung ako 'yan, di kita gaganyanin." as a joke.

Carl extended her hand to reach for the drink beside Avery, accidentally falling into Avery's arms.

She never let go. She just let it happen, just like that. She held Carl in her arms, their faces inches from eachother, as if it was the most normal thing for friends to do.

Carl felt at ease in Avery's warm embrace, feeling that same funny feeling everytime she gets flustered by Avery's bold actions which she deems to be platonic, and maybe that was the bad thing.

Carl grew to be confused, afraid to question Avery's actions towards her. The way she calls her 'asawa ko' platonically. The way they have actually made out to make their tongues purple. The way Carl always assured Avery's safety when bringing her home.

Carl's intentions were always clear as glass, trying to erase that platonic title. She wants to show Avery her true motive.

Carl's friends often tease her, questioning her "Bakit ka nag-sesettle kay Avery?"

At ang palagi niyang sagot, "Kasi mahal 'ko."

She's never loved anybody after Avery. That kind of loyalty can't just be found anywhere.

Carl has always longed to confess, yet Avery has always told her that she no longer wants to love, which she has to accept.

Yet Carl remains to yearn for Avery, every day, thinking that one day something would change.
