"Here you go," I say, handing Thomas a pillow and a blanket. I left to get his stuff and when I came back he was almost asleep in his hammock. "Ready for bed already?" I ask.

"It was a long day," is all he says.

"I know, we've all been through it. But it could've been a lot worse. On my first day I tried to run away so many times they had to lock me up in the pit. Even after they let me out I wouldn't talk to anyone until Newt..."

"You sure you and Newt aren't a thing?" he taunts.

"How many times are you going to ask?"

"Until I'm convinced."

"And when will that be?"

"I'll let you know," he says, his tone sending shivers down my spine.

"Speaking of Newt, aren't you going to find him?"

"Oh, yeah. He's probably calmed down by now. Will you be okay here?"

"I'll be fine. Good night."

"Good night."
