What Whoever Said:
"Wisdom is knowing what to do next, skill is knowing how to do it, and virtue is doing it."
-David Starr Jordan
What I Say:
I'm going to use what I hope is a universal example to help explain what this quote means to me. Do you remember when your mother (or other guardian) would tell you (or perhaps still tells you) to clean your room? Well, as you got older, you hopefully learned how to tell your room needed cleaning and how to clean it properly. You have the wisdom and the skill, but how often do you actually clean your room without being forced? Another example is when you see someone getting bullied. You know it needs to stop and you hopefully know either you, a group of people, or an authority figure needs to step in, but how often do you actually act instead of being a bystander? We could all use a little more virtue.
