What Whoever Said:
"The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places."
-Ernest Hemingway
What I Say:
I like how Hemingway used "everyone" here. We are not alone! Life doesn't discriminate. It is hard for everyone in one way or another. Hemingway does not say that everyone becomes "strong at the broken places," though. Only some do, which is sadly true. If it weren't, there wouldn't be so many broken people. So, the message I got out of this quote is to use the hard times to become stronger. I should try to work them to my advantage, instead of staying broken.
