What Whoever Said:
"To thrive in life you need three bones. A wishbone. A backbone. And a funny bone."
-Reba McEntire
What I Say:
At first glance, I thought this quote was kind of weird, but then I came to appreciate it. I think this quote means that in order to do well, people need to dream, work hard, and have a good sense of humor. Just like a wishbone is used to make a wish, a person needs vision, goals, and imagination. Just like the backbone can be used to lift heavy things, a person needs to pull his or her weight and fulfill obligations. And just like the funny bone is the humerus, a person needs to be humorous once in a while. If a person does all these things, not only will he or she be well-rounded, but I believe that person is more likely to do well in life.
