A MHA x Reader Insert story. You were born with a very unique quirk. A quirk with a lot of mystery. What it lacked in power, it more than made up for in resourcefulness. As a child, this quirk helped you make friends and kept you the center of atten...
'What the fuck...?' I thought. On my back, I lay down in what looked like a vacant woodland area. Nothing much around besides grass, trees and bushes. Staring up at the bright blue sky, my ears were ringing badly. The only thing to drown it out were the calm sounds of wind blowing and birds chirping. 'What the fuck? Wasn't I just with Eri and Mirio? And...Izuku? We were touring the school, right? So how did I get...here?' I struggled.
With parts of my face bruised, and blood running down from my head, I begrudgingly sat up, before then bringing myself to a standing position. An elegant-looking man standing nearby, with his back to me, turned around.

His cool expression rapidly turned to nothing short of absolute shock.
"(screams) You...You ruined my perfect dramatic ending, you stubborn freak of nature! Can't you just stay down already?!" the man exclaimed. His handlebar mustache almost seemed to move on its own, from the sheer shock of the moment.
'Oh...that's right.' I thought, somewhat remembering. "I wouldn't be much of a hero, if I just quit the minute things get hard. Would I?" I stated.
"I'm truly surprised that you are still standing after that last knockback. Although my intention wasn't to seriously harm you, I expected it to finally keep you down. You are quite resilient." the man said, respectfully.
'Shit. I've been fighting this guy for well over an hour now. Although, a lot of that has just been me chasing him around. Every time I catch up, the jerk slingshots me away and takes off running, again. I'm in my civilian clothes. I have no weapons, no gear. I'm tired and I'm hurt and I don't want to be here... But if anyone else gets involved, especially Pros, the School Festival will be over before it starts...I gotta beat this guy. I just don't know how.' I thought, intensely.
"Tell me. Why do you keep referring to yourself as a hero? While I truly mean no offense, I have yet to see you do anything even resembling a quirk." the man spoke once more.
"It's complicated. But, you know, I gotta hand it to you. That last hit knocked the last few hours right out of my memory. I'm gonna have gaps, now, you dick." I replied.
"Language, please. And I do hope my name isn't among those gaps. I'd like to think that I, Gentle Criminal, am beyond forgetting. There are so few villains left with true class." Gentle Criminal said, smiling.
"I'm gonna stick my foot in your 'class'. We'll see who remembers you, then." I assured. Still determined to defeat Gentle Criminal, I rushed forward on foot. As I leapt forward and reared my arm back for a good punch, my body seemed to impact with something. Something invisible. 'What's happening?! Is this saran wrap??' I wondered, stopping.
"As I've already told you, my quirk is Elasticity. I bestow elasticity to the things I touch. Even if it's the air. It seems I really did put some gaps in your recent memory. Because I put this up just moments ago and you failed to even notice... Gently Rebound!" Gentle Criminal said. With those last words, he did a throwing motion, causing the elastic air to launch me backward several yards! As I flew into a large bush, I clamored to escape and get on my feet once more. "Again, I don't like resolving things through violence. I would very much like to be done with this situation." Gentle Criminal said, smiling.
