Having my mom not be home at night scared me, especially since the robot thing this afternoon. I sit in my room, just staring at my phone.
I place my phone up to my ear, hearing the persons voice on the other end.
"Liam? Please come back."
"Kelli."
"I can't sleep, I'm scared."
"You have to learn to not be afraid, you take control."
"I'm tired of taking control."
"My parents are asleep. They'll hear me leave."
"Please."
"I'll be there in a few minutes."
"Thank you."
I could've called Theo but I didn't want to bother him after we just met and all. I could trust Liam a little more with this, knowing he wouldn't freak out or tell anyone.
I lay down and hear a creak behind me, startling me.
I see Liam in the doorway. I get up immediately and run into his arms.
"I'm sorry." Liam whispers in my ear, holding me back.
"I'm so stupid."
"No. It's me. You and Theo had fun. I'm glad. I just-"
"You are just what?"
"Nothing, it doesn't matter."
"You can sleep in the room across the hall. I just want someone here to protect me."
He gives a small smile and walks into the room. I didn't bother making fun of him in his sweats, he actually could pull them off very well.
I get into bed and turn out the light, curling up in the warm covers. I just felt a little better knowing someone was here to protect me from anything.

Metal dragged across the floor, creaking noises flooded the hall. Whispers of fallen, failed scientists ran through her head. One began sticking a needle through her neck, making her eyes turn silver as she fell to the ground. She gasped for air, seeing no sign of life. Tubes full of "failed experiments" surrounded her. Bubbles began filling the tubes, startling her. One of the scientists came over to her, pulling her to a room with a cold body on the ground. She didn't feel anything, except cold in her heart. None of her friends were even trying to look for her. Not even her handsome boyfriend. No one, nothing. She was alone, forever.

I scream through the rush of tears rolling down my cheeks.
"Hey! Kelli, it's Liam. It's okay!" I feel a pair of muscular arms shaking me.
I sit up in my bed and wipe a mix of sweat and tears from my face.
"It was just a nightmare, I'm okay. Sorry for waking you."
"It's alright." He turns away, approaching his room.
"Liam?"
"Yeah?"
"Will you stay with me? Please?"
"Yes."
I peel the hot sheets off my body and let him get under them. He pulls them back up over his body as I lay my head on him. He begins stroking my hair, cooing soft words in my ears.
"It's okay. I'm here. I'll protect you. I promise."

I wake up in bed, feeling a body next to me. I fall off the bed and the body sits up quickly.
"Kelli?!"
"Liam?! Oh my god."
"No, no! We didn't."
"Did we?"
"No. Don't you remember?"
I shake my head.
"You woke up at like 2 in the morning, screaming. I came in and you didn't let me leave. That's all."
"Oh yeah." I rub my arm that was stinging from the fall.
"You tell no one about this." I point my finger.
"Especially Theo. He'll kill you."
"Are you guys a thing?"
"I- I don't know."
"So, he just kissed you and left?"
"Yup."
"That dick."
"It was actually romantic."
I hear a knock at my door and look to him.
"Get out of my bed!"
He gets up and literally runs out.
"Where do I go?"
"Make coffee and act like you just got here!"
I brush through my hair with my fingers and walk to the door, acting tired.
"Hey guys." I yawn, seeing Scott and Stiles.
"How was your date last night?" Scott asks.
"It was actually incredible."
"Wow. He wasn't shady at all?" Stiles looks surprised.
"Nope. He did throw me into a lake, but in a playful way."
"Ew."
"It was actually really fun."
"Glad you had fun." Scott smiles.
"Hey Liam. When did you get here?" Scott waves his eyebrows at me.
"I'll cut you." I mouth.
"I just did a few minutes ago. I mean look at me."
"You didn't bother to get dressed for lacrosse practice?"
"Oh shit. I forgot. Don't steal my coffee."
I look to Liam, about to walk out the door. I walk out with him.
"Thank you so much."
"Anytime."
He gets into his car and drives away.
I walk back in the house and Scott holds up my phone, seeing Theo was calling.
"Give me it."
I answer.
"Hey." I clear my throat.
"Hey Kelli. What's up?"
"Nothing, just making some coffee."
"Do you have any plans today?"
"Liam, Scott, and Stiles have lacrosse practice today."
"What time is that?"
"What time?" I whisper to them.
They hold up 12 fingers together.
"It's at noon."
"Care if I join?"
"No. You can meet me there."
"I'll be there."
"Okay. See you then."
"Bye."
I hang up the phone and do a little dance, terrifying the boys.
"Are the girls coming?"
"No. They said they were up too late last night."
"I left at 8 and got back around 10 and they were still here. Liam was too."
"What?"
"He actually scared the crap out of me."
"Was he sneaking around?"
"Probably he has a crush on Kelli." Scott hits Stiles shoulder, I'm guessing I wasn't supposed to know.
"What?"
"Liam likes you, he likes you a lot."
"Really?"
"Yeah. He talks about you all the time."
"Is that why he attacked me?"
"Haha, very funny. That night he stormed out, that night he told us."
I blush a little and cross my legs, sitting at the dining room table.
"What are you hiding?"
"That night. Uh."
"What?"
"I kissed him."
"You what?!"
"It was just so perfect. The moon was out and I was actually controlling myself and I just turned and smiled at him and it happened! Just that once!"
"What else happened? Why was Liam here early?"
"Uhh. Just cause?"
"Did he sleep with you?!"
"Not in that way! I had a nightmare again and when he came and held me, I just was calm and I didn't have one again."
"Should I set up cameras in your room?"
"Why?"
"To see if your dreams are making you do anything."
"No. You will creep."
"What do you do in there?"
"You've both had sex with your girlfriends."
"Are you and Theo together?"
"I don't know. Maybe he'll ask me today."
"Hey. Is my coffee still hot?" Liam walks in, setting his lacrosse bag on the ground.
"Yeah. Should be." I scratch my neck.
"Don't tell him about any of this." I mouth to both of them.
I look at clock and see its 11:20.
"We have to head out in 25 minutes."
"Okay."
I walk to my room and find something to wear. I grab a pair of skinny jeans and my new beacon hills lacrosse hoodie that Scott happened to pick up for me. It was grey and had maroon lettering on it. I hear a set of footsteps and see Liam, holding his mug of steaming black coffee.
"You going to practice with us?"
"Yeah, Theo's gonna meet me there."
"That's good. Is he going to ask you to be his girlfriend?"
"I don't know."
"It's pretty chilly out."
"Yeah. It's almost October."
"I'm gonna let you get ready."
"Thanks for the permission, Liam."
He chuckles down the hall. I shut my door and begin taking off my pajamas. I pull my jeans on and grab my brown Ugg boots, slipping them on. I grab a plain blue shirt and a push up bra. I slip them on. I walk over to my vanity table and put on deodorant, perfume, and some mascara. I let it dry and pull on my hoodie. I walk out of my room and go into the bathroom, beginning to brush my teeth.
"3 minutes, Kelli."
"Okay, chill!"
I spit out my toothpaste and walk out.
"Don't you look nice." Scott laughs.
"Is that supposed to be rude?"
"No."
"Let's go."
We all go to Stiles' Jeep and I hop in the back with Liam. We drive to the school and see Liam's friends, Brett and Mason.
Stiles parks the car and we all hop out. I see Theo's car and I walk over to it as he gets out.
"Hey." I hug him quickly.
"Hey. So, about last night."
"Yeah?"
"Can I ask you something?"
"Sure, anything."
"Will you be my girlfriend?"
"Of course." I smile at him.
"That was hard to get off my chest."
"Don't be afraid, Theo. Just remember that."
I walk side by side with Theo to the benches, seeing the boys get ready. They were really good at this sport, I wish I could play. I probably would end up turning.
"Go Liam, Scott and Stiles!" I cheer and they all give me a thumbs up, probably not wanting me to do that.
"I probably sound like an annoying mom don't I?" I smile at Theo.
"A cute annoying mom."
