The bright smiled figure lays across a metal table, various weapon surround it. The doctors begin pouring in, coming towards him. He begins screaming under his breath, obviously he had lost his voice.
"Leave him alone!" I growl, turning. But I was different. My claws were glowing and my teeth weren't as large.
"There's nothing you can do about it, chimera."I awake in a pile of sweat, seeing it was almost 5. No one had called, but I had a text message.
Mom.Hey honey! I can't believe I'm dead. And you know what? It's all your fault.
I throw my phone to the ground and hold my head with my hands, pulling some hair.
This can't be happening.
I grab my phone and begin texting back.
You're not real. This is all some kind of sick joke.
A few seconds later, another text comes.
Too bad it isn't. Your father is here. He said it's all your fault for both of us. You killed us!
I begin typing furiously.
You were never there for me, mom! So please tell me how it's my fault?!
One last message appears on my phone.
You will pay for this.
I stare at my phone looking at Theo's text messages, piling in one after another.
Kelli, call me please.
Are you okay?
Please just let me know you are okay. I love you.
I toss my phone on my bed, wrapping a blanket around myself. I stare at the ceilings, remembering the nightmares. The screams. Everything.
I hear a knock at my door. Guessing it was Theo, I slightly ignore it. But, I hear a slight whimper. I walk towards the door.
"Damnit. I shouldn't have come when I knew she wasn't going to talk to me."
The voice didn't happen to be Theo, it was Liam.
"Liam?" I walk towards the door a bit more, I could feel him perk up through the door.
"Please let me in, Kelli."
"I look horrible, Liam."
"I don't care. Please just let me see you."I open the door and see Liam looking at the ground. He looks up, blood running down his hands.
"Oh my god. What happened to you?" I grab his hands, they were freezing.
"I couldn't control myself." He looks up, his eyes turning yellow.
"Liam, calm down. Hey. Hey." I run my fingers down his hand, trying to calm him.
"I can't.." He begins stumbling over.
"Come and sit on the couch. I'm going to get something to clean you up, okay?"
Funny, you're the one taking care of people when you are the most broken one of all.
This new speaking in my head was starting to become an ass..
I help Liam to the couch and watch him look up at me, his eyes glossy.
I walk to the bathroom and grab a cloth and dampen it with some water. I walk back out to the living room and see Liam was not there.
"Liam? Liam?!"
I was now panicking, where did he go? He couldn't have gone far. I look around, going to the other bathroom. I see he was throwing his guts up in the toilet.
"Oh, Liam." I walk over to him, rubbing his back lightly.
He turns around and flushes the toilet, leaning against the back of it. I bend down and wipe his face.
"Thank you." He stands up, stumbling.
"Let me clean your hands."
He holds out his hands and I wipe them gently, he cringes.
"I'm sorry."
"Just keep going. I'm fine."I wipe a little bit more and grab bandages, wrapping his palms.
"Thank you. I don't know what got into me."
"It's okay. You don't have to apologize."
"Are you okay?" He looks up at me as we walk to the living room to sit on the couch."No. Not really."
"What's wrong?"
"Theo kinda left. I mean, I made him leave."
"What happened?"
"I needed some space."
"I can go if you want."
"No, no. It's fine. I'm actually happy you are here. We never get time to ourselves."
"I have to be somewhere in awhile."
"Oh, where?"
"I asked someone to dinner tonight."
"Who?" I push his shoulder, acting happy for him.
"Hayden, we were kinda enemies back in the 6th grade but she's really nice and pretty now."
"Good luck tonight." I smile widely at him as he leans towards me, kissing my cheek. It felt different from Theo's kisses, but I wrap my arms around Liam and hold him for a few minutes.
"I gotta go." He pulls out and stands, brushing his hands off on his jeans.
"Bye, Liam." I wave as he walks out the door.
I lay across the couch, letting one of my legs hang off the side. I close my eyes and think of a life without Liam or even Theo, or anyone really.
-
I feel my phone vibrating in my jeans and I sit up, pulling it out of my pocket.
Theo again.
I slide the answer button and put the phone up to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Hey, Kel. It's good to hear your voice."
"What's up?"
"I made a reservation at Alehandro's tonight."
"Seriously?! That place has like a year long wait on the reservations list."
"Let's just say I have a nice relationship with the manager."
"Wow. What time?"
"8:00."
I look to the clock on the wall and see it was 6:30.
"Oh god, I have to get ready."
"I'll be there around 7:45 okay?"
"Okay."
"I love you."
"I love you too. I'm sorry, Theo."
"It's okay. Just please let me take you out tonight?"
"Of course."
"I'll be there later. Bye."
"Bye."
I get up quickly after hanging up the phone, running to the shower.I get into the shower and let the water run down my neck. The hot water made my tense muscles calm down.
Kelli, you don't even care.
Why would I care? I'm going to be okay.
You're not okay, not without me.
