World View (what Christians believe)

Well, I've told you what others believe and why no one can be one hundred percent that. But what do Christians believe?
We believe there is an absolute truth, there is good and evil, there is one true religion, and there is a God.
First of all, there is an absolute truth. How do we know the what the truth is? The bible clearly tells us. God's word is truth (John 17:17), Jesus is truth (John 14:6), it is powerful and useful (Romans 12:2 and 2 Timothy 3:16), and lastly, it is knowable (John 8:31-32). So, God's word is the basis for the biblical worldview.
Second, there is good and evil. What is good? Only God is good (Psalm 119:68). He cannot and does not create evil (James 1:13 and 1 John 1:5), in fact, he created everything to be good (Genesis 1:31). Where does evil come from? It comes from our sinful desires (James 1:14-15). It started in the garden with man's sin bringing brokenness to all of creation (Genesis 3:17 and Romans 5:20-21). But the good news is that God is sovereign over evil. So, biblical morality gives the biblical worldview an accurate understanding of people and nature.
Thirdly, there is one true religion. The one true God demands that we worship him only (Exodus 20:3-4a) and he has a unique and singular plan to solve the problem of sin (Acts 4:12). What is that plan? Well, Jesus is the center of God's plan (Colossians 1:15-20). So why is there just one true religion, because we desperately need salvation. It's like if we were swimming in the ocean, and there was a sudden fierce current. Let's pretend the life guard is God, and the tools he uses are the ways to salvation. Now, what if the life guard swam over to you as you frantically tried to keep from drowning and waited politely next to you and asked, "How would you like to be saved? Would you like me to simply pull you to shore, or we have several floatation devises, or we even have a boat! Which one?" Saying there are multiple ways of salvation is like that life guard asking which way you'd like to be saved from drowning. We are in desperate need of saving, and God will immediately come to save us. He saved us through his son, Jesus, who died to save us from drowning in our sins.
Lastly, there is a God. Because truth is knowable, God is knowable, and he can and has revealed himself. He has done so in scripture (Isaiah 45:5) and in nature (Romans 1:19-20 and Psalms 19:1). So, He has not left us guessing. He has revealed himself accurately and exactly in scripture.
But how do these world-views pertain to today? Let's start with evolution. There is a mix of relativism - there is no objective truth. Nihilism - right and wrong are just human construction. Atheism - only natural, materialistic explanations are needed or accepted. Homosexuality and gender. Relativism - I define what's true for me. Nihilism - my desires are greater than nature and tradition. Pluralism - religious beliefs are all basically the same and must change with times. Abortion. Relativism - I define what a human life is or isn't. Nihilism - I define what is murder or not. Pluralism - religious beliefs are all basically the same and must change with the times. Atheism - there is nothing special about human life.
Putting it together, we must learn. If we disagree, we need to be able to back it up with scripture. That means we need to be intimately familiar with it. Remember, a weapon is powerful, but completely useless if we are not trained. The scriptures are our weapons, we need to train. But don't forget, we need to be passionate, but speak it in love. Remember Ephesians 4:15  Instead, speaking the truth in love,  we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ. Or even 1 Corinthians 13:1-3. So stand firm in the word of God, and speak the truth in love.
