Hi guys,
Happy Halloween! I hope you are all having fun, and getting lots of candy. I, personally don't go trick-or-treating, but I find it super fun to hand out the candy. Someone has to do it, right? Plus, I can always take from the candy bowl.
As much fun as it is, this a very dark holiday. It's not just dressing up and getting candy. It originated because people believed that on this day, spirits were able to enter the physical world and haunt the living. So they would wear masks in hopes that the ghosts wouldn't recognize them and haunt someone else. They would leave food and drinks so that the ghosts would not enter their homes.
So, this is a very fun holiday, but guard your souls, and remember that spirits cannot harm us because we are safe with Jesus. For us, as Christians, we should remember this day is celebrating things such as witchcraft. I would not call it a holiday - or holy day - because it's not.
But, go! Have fun and get free candy. Hey, it's not wrong to take free stuff. And, yeah. Happy Halloween people.
