This is a sensitive topic, but it needs to be spoken, with so many people in the USA advocating for it. I want to share this with all of you who agree with them. I do not hate you. I really don't. In fact, I try to do what God has called me to do, and love you. I love you because Christ first loved me. What I do hate, is that you live in sin. Yes, I am saying that you choosing to sleep with a person and marry a person of the same sex, is a sin. That does not mean I hate you. How can I say such hurtful words and call that love?
Love does not mean that we accept everything. Jesus is love, yet He does not allow us to live however we want. That is not love. Now, do. In fact, Jesus even called the Pharisees a brood of vipers. Calling someone out on their sin is not hate, it is love at its finest. It is love to not allow someone to fall into sin. Like how a parent will punish their child for doing something wrong, we must correct our brothers and sisters when we see them do wrong. But we must do it in love. 1 Corinthians 13:1 states If I speak in the tongues of men or angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
So, I love you, but I do not agree with you. I believe the Bible is the sole authority above all else. For I believe the Bible is the infallible word of God. So I believe that it says that having relations with one another of the same sex is sinful. I believe it is a choice and that you were not "born this way" as some are led to believe. In fact, it is natural to question whom you like. But similarly to any crush, you have the power to overcome that temptation. You have the power to choose whom you love. God has created us male and female in His image. He has created marriage to be between a male and a female. He has created marriage to model it after Christ's relationship with God and our relationship with Christ. Christ is the groom and we are his bride. Not his husband. His bride. The church.
So do I agree with your choices, no. But that does not mean I agree with what you've had to deal with. You are human, and should be treated as such. It angers me that people fear you to the point where you are bullied at school or shunned from your families. It saddens me that you have to suffer death because people feel you should not live. You also, were created in the image of God.
Yes, love is love. Love can be nothing but love. But you are twisting this around. So what if inside we all have hearts and lungs and bones and flesh. It just means we are all people, created as image bearers. And God created us equal. Equal, but different. I want you to think about how a young child's psyche will change if we allow them to change genders. Why do we allow them to make such a drastic change to themselves, but we make them wait for others such as a tattoo. Both will permanently alter their body. God created you the way you were born. We are his creation. How weird it is for a creation to demand that the creator change him or her. How heartbreaking it must be for the creator to watch as the piece He so lovingly made, changes his or her self.
I do not wish to go into the logistics or argue my point for why being LGBTQ+ is a choice. Just know that I love you. I will fight to defend you and your basic human rights. You are not a second class citizen. But that does not mean I agree with you. I do not support your marriages, I do not see it as a true marriage. I believe you do have a choice in the matter. And I pray that you will turn to the God that created you. I pray you will know His love. I pray that you will become His children and want to follow after Him. God bless.
