"Urrrghh. It's not like that Nate. That's not the way to solve it," I said for the hundredth time.
"Ohh I remember. It is this way right, " he asked solving the question in a wrong way again.
"Nope," I said tiredly.
Seriously teachers are trying. They teach hundreds of students for many hours they don't get tired and the students understand. Okay maybe they do get tired but they don't really show it. And I was there for only two hours trying to teach a simple thing and he didn't get it and I was so exhausted. Well maybe it was not my fault that he didn't understand it's his .
"Please show me how to do it one more time I promise I will understand. Here pinky promise," he said bringing his smallest finger.
I laughed and brought my smallest finger. Our fingers intertwined to seal the deal.
"I will explain one more time and if you fail I will quit being your tutor and you will cut your pinky finger because of the promise," I said jokingly.
"Noooo please don't do this. You don't want my dad to disown me if I fail maths do you? Anyway I know you can't quit. I know you want to see my handsome face everyday, " he said.
"Whatever," I said with a chuckle and started explaining how to solve the equation again.
That day was our first lesson. We decided to do it at my house after school so here we were. Nate looked like he recognized the house when we first stepped in. He was really supposed to since we spent all our childhood playing in his and my house.
Apart from Jason currently peeping and checking on me as if I was an eight year old girl Talk about big brothers being protective. The rest of the lesson was okay actually. Mom and dad were not home. And James was sleeping.
"Okay I understand it now. Close your eyes and I will solve it, " Nate said looking excited.
"Why will I close my eyes?" I asked.
"So that it will be a surprise," He said.
"I won't, "
"Come on please,"he begged.
I gave up and turned around so that I won't see him solving the equation. So that it will be a surprise as he called it.
"Am done, " he said.
I turned back and took a look at the paper.
"It's not...," I started.
I saw the smile on his face fall then I continued "wrong"
"Wait if it is not wrong then that means it is correct right?"he asked suddenly realizing what I said.
"Yup, " I answered.
He then stood up and started jumping like a five year old.
How I wished I could video tape this thing and put it on instagram so that the whole school could see what their Mr popular did.
"Let's take a break," I said.
We chatted about random stuffs. Suprisingly we didn't talk about anything of our past. I was kind of avoiding it. I didn't know why. Maybe because he had no idea I was once his bestfriend. I decided I would bring up the topic later on. The earlier the better right?
We then ate some snacks. Mom and dad were still not back . James was so angry that Nate didn't come with Cassie when he woke up. We had to explain to him that it was from school Nate followed me home. Jason came and complained that we are not doing what we are suppose to. I just ignored him. Sometimes big brothers can be so annoying. Even though I knew he was telling the truth.
