Chapter 19: He almost caught us

Recap:

** Mr Brown told Jessie what happened to Nate.**

**Jessie and Jason made up**

** Jessie, Jason , Rivers , Evan, Alice , James and Cassie team up to help Nate to regain his memories**

"I give up, nothing is working. I don't think he will ever recognize me as his old best friend. " I said sighing.

"Don't give up too soon princess, the prince will soon remember you for sure.Red, White, Green, Rosy, Daisy and I will try everything we can to help you," Evan said in a fake accent. Evan and his stupid code names, urghhh. He didn't  understand the intensity of the situation. To him it's just a game. He insisted to have a code name for all of us. Yeah all of us except him.  And we had no say in the names he gave us.

"Yes and the witch can do nothing about it," James said.

"Yes ,White is correct the witch can do nothing about it. If she trys anything we will punish her severely," Evan said.

"James didn't I tell you not to call Nicole witch?" I asked.

"Urhmmm but even Rosy calls her that," James said scratching his neck. I turned around to look at Cassie.

"Sorry I won't do it again," she said sheepishly, her cheeks turning red. I hate to admit it but Evan was actually quite good at code naming us. He said he calls Cassie Rosy because of how her cheeks are Rosy red.

"Okay back to the matter,"  Red I mean Rivers said.

"There is no  more matter Rivers. We are done with everything. We will just go back home and continue acting like everything is okay."

"No we won't ," Jason said.

"Yes we will, I am done here," I said as I started packing my things. I was so tired of everything. This team was really useless. We hadn't achieve anything for almost a month. I didn't think Nate would ever remember so it's better not to waste any more time. And Nicole hadn't said a thing to us.  She refused to say anything. She said she doesn't know anything about the accident except what we already knew. But from seeing her expression we all knew she was lying. We couldn't  do anything about it though. Is not like we could enter her brain and see what she knows. Mr Brown had been avoiding all of us since he saw we were a little bit suspicious.  Jason and Alice saw Nate's Doctor but he also refused to give them any information. He gave the excuse of having treated so many patients that he couldn't even remember who Nate Brown is .

And Nate, he had no idea. No matter what I did, how I acted, what I wore, how I talked. He had no freaking idea that I was his best friend. I tried talking about our past a hundred times but it was all useless. I sang count on me, our favorite song to him a hundred times but he said he didn'  even remember the song. We watched our favorite movies together but he still didn't recognize me. He didn't  remember a thing.

"Jessie," Jason said giving me a pity look.

"Jason seriously it's okay, I don't mind at all. Since we are now best friends with him.  It's okay if he doesn't remember me as his old best friend," I told him even though I was trying to convince myself not him.

"Thank you for everything really. I appreciate everything but you don't have to bother yourselves too much,"I turned around and look at the other ones then started walking towards the stairs.

Just as I reached the end of the living room someone grabbed my hand. I turned around and saw Rivers looking at me.

"Please," was all he said but because of the pleading look on his face I sighed and turned around.
