"Don't forget your sunglasses" Jiss called before leaving my room, or suite to be accurate.
"It's the evening and I'm wearing sunglasses" I mumbled.
I was wearing a strapless black dress that reach just above the knee. It hugged my body without being too revealing with black heels and red leather jacket to cover the wigs until the time comes. Makeup and hair artist worked on me. My hair is pulled up in an updo so people can see the wigs.
"Here we go" I took my clutch and dark sunglasses and went to the limo. Jiss and I were in the limo and the guards were in the SUV ahead of us.
The whole time I was fidgeting, I was too nervous and freaked out.
"Will you stop it?" Jiss said irritated.
We arrived at the studio and the limo stopped at the entrance.
"I'm not sure about this" I started to panic "this is my last moment as a normal person. When I leave the studio I will be famous" I Screamed whisper. A freak, A princess, A DEMON. I'm hyperventilating now.
"You are already famous to all demons. Now deep breaths" Jiss said, taking deep breaths herself.
"I am? I am. Your right" I took a deep breath imitating her.
"I think I'm fine now" I got out off the car and into the studio.
We were met by a lady wearing ear set. "May I help you?" she looked surprised to see four people all wearing sunglasses. We were a scene.
"We are your special guest of the night. Almasi" Jiss said
I was holding laughter by biting my lower lip. The look on her face was epic. She was shocked and a bit scared glancing between the four of us. Not knowing which one is Almasi.
"This way" she led us back stage while side glancing at us all the way there.
"Now don't forget what we practice" Jiss said removing my glasses and fixing my dress.
"Damn, they are still red" I said. Referring to my eyes
We heard clapping. I took a deep breath preparing myself, I don't want to panic again.
"We all know by now about demons. But we never heard a statement from them they never answered a question. But that about to change as a public speaker is found" the host said
"Miss Sarah Almasi" she said and there was clapping
I walked in with a smile plastered on my face.
What have I got myself into?
I shook hand with the hostess and sat on the sofa facing her and the crowd. Damn the camera is too close.
"Welcome miss Almasi" she said
"Thanks" was my voice too high? Ok, just calm down, you can do this.
"You are a real princess. Right?" we did give them some info.
"Yes I am THE princess, heir and public speaker"
"You look young. How old are you?" she asked
"I am 17. But we don't age like humans" just like that, some info but not too much
"You are a student. Right?" I thought I was here to talk about demons, not myself.
"Yes, senior in high school" I said
"So how are demons different from humans" ah, the million dollar question.
"What makes us demons is the energy control like heat, electrical and physical and every demon differ in the degree of control" I said "No we can't change our appearance except the eyes and we are not evil we are people" no need to know about the human flesh part.
"We also has stronger instinct that give us better sense, reflexes and a bad temper" I chuckled and the hostess laughed with few of the audience even though it sounded forced, but This info was important especially the temper one.
"Today Senator Jackson said that he was a demon, how many are there" aha, the billion dollar question.
"You would feel its large numbers because they all came out in the same period of time. But we are a minority"
"Not all of us came out yet" I said
"Why now?" she asked and the audience lean forward
"We lived among humans for ages. But lately we have been blackmailed. So we decided that the world is open minded enough to understand and accept us"
"Do you have a government?" she asked
"Yes, we have a king, my father but he will not make himself known we also have prime ministers" smooth change of the king subject without being obvious. High five to me.
"Can you change your eyes for us" she asked
"Actually I have one of my guards to show you"
I have to say something about the guards and show the red eyes. Two birds' one stone.
Jack walked in and stood in the middle. After the camera focused on him his blue eyes changed to red then back
"Thank you Jack" I said
"I am a special case. Most of times my eyes are red and it's harder to change them back" since I will be the face they have to know about me
"But I have wings" I said
"Wings" she was startled and a bit skeptical
"I am the only demon" they don't need to know the reason.
I stood up and removed my jacket then I turned around and spread my wings careful not to knock anything over.
I heard gasps then silence. yeah such a freak go a head and gawk, I shook the thought, Calm down, don't cry not here.
I turned back folding my wings and sitting down
"Th... That was interesting" she said. You can say that again I thought.
